2016: Obama's America
July. 13,2012 PGThe film examines the question, "If Obama wins a second term, where will we be in 2016?" Across the globe and in America, people in 2008 hungered for a leader who would unite and lift us from economic turmoil and war. True to Americas ideals, they invested their hope in a new kind of president, Barack Obama. What they didn't know is that Obama is a man with a past, and in powerful ways that past defines him--who he is, how he thinks, and where he intends to take America and the world.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.
Sooo I guess what this guy is saying is that all children who grow up without a parent is perplexed as he makes Obama appear! It's proven that fathers make a bigger impression on little girls than their mothers, vice versa mothers make the biggest impression on sons. So that refutes this whole documentary right there. I don't consider documentary a point-of-view or a side, but I appreciate the thirsty reaching this guy did in drilling through his life. The documentary has a political bent to it and I don't particularly care too much about either republican or democrats tactics in 2016 because I trust neither one. I wonder how this documentary would sound if made today. That's not a question, just an observation. I don't too much listen to crap said about Hillary nor Donald nor anyone else because it's all riled up in lies, controversy and greed to get at one position in this country. Truly there's been no President who's done everything even nearly right which is why our politics is the way it is today, so to tear down any one is to dear down them all! Who is the worst, in my opinion the sitting President we have now. Who is the best will always and forever be open for speculation!
My wife and I went to watch the film prior to Obama's re-election. We literally had the last two seats in the theater, for the last show of the day, they were selling out so quickly. It's a shame more people didn't watch the film and really think about the message. One must put the film in context. At the time D'Souza made his film, a great many people were still arguing about whether or not Obama was actually born in the USA, if he was actually eligible to become President in the first place, much less for a second term, and those who questioned Obama were immediately attacked and labeled by the Democrat machine as racists.D'Souza avoided the so-called "Birther" argument and instead took a unique tack: by closely analyzing Obama's admitted history--taken from his own memoir--and retracing his steps, D'Souza wanted to interview those who personally knew Obama and his family and reveal who the people were that were his influences, in order to then determine what his real world-view was.It is true that the introduction seemed long, but there is good reason for this; to counter the inevitable accusation of "racist", D'Souza spelled out how much he had in common with Obama, and how, initially, he was intrigued by him. But how that intrigue had given way to suspicion and then alarm by what he had written about himself (if you believe he actually wrote is own memoir) and what he said he intended to do.By the time he actually retraces Obama's steps an influences, the argument is well made; Obama's world view was formed by his expatriot mother, whose virulent anti-American beliefs were core to her divorce from her "second" husband, Soetero, as well as those of his estranged "biological father", Barack Obama senior. Obama was steeped in anti-colonial revolutionary philosophy, surrounded by well known Marxists who influenced Obama for decades, closely, and personally.D'Souza backs up every step of his argument, allowing close associates, friends and even family to explain both Obama Sr and Jr. And the conclusion about Obama's intentions are then both shocking and quite believable. The fact is, that more than 2 years after I saw the film, real historical events appear to have confirmed Obama's intentions. From Fast and Furious to Benghazi, arming of Islamists in Libya and Syria, the treatment of the Fort Hood shooter to his clear preference for Muslim "revolutionaries", his constant use of class envy and race tensions to divide the nation, and his attempts to weaken US influence and "lead from behind" around the world, all validate Obama's perverse views of the USA and his desire to weaken her. Most recently, his actions regarding the flood of illegal immigrants seems to yet again demonstrate that Obama will do ANYTHING to "fundamentally transform" the USA and knock her down several pegs.Considering what a great country this once was, and how deeply troubled it now appears to be under his "rule" - rather than governance - leaves us wondering why this has been tolerated, and if the nation will ever recover from this betrayal from within.
...does not speak for the film. It speaks for the widespread delusion of Obama supporters and their leftist antics. The low score of this film is an act of sabotage by those who would prefer you remain deaf, dumb, and blind. The overall score of this film is not the result of a lack of integrity. It is the result of the factual information it brings into the light, and it just so happens that that very same information stands in direct opposition of the vacuous ideals of the man it is based on, and those who support him. It is, absolutely, no surprise that this film received such a low score. This film (and the book, as well) were both incredibly informative and presented in a very professional manner. Dinesh D'Souza provides us with a factual, unadulterated tour of Barack Obama's past. The only manner in which one would argue with the details that this work imparts to the public is the manner in which one simply wishes, with all of their heart, that something is not true.If you are searching for the truth, you will be pleased that you took the time to view this film. If you prefer a life of farcical denial, you will, undoubtedly, be disappointed and make a point of attempting to trash the reputation of D'Souza and it will, very likely, be done in the most predictable way, befitting you and others of your variety.
Danesh D'Sousa puts together a multi media lecture based on his book. A lot of the facts are conjecture about people Obama knew growing up, and he pins him down using guilt by association. He knew a communist in Hawaii three years before entering college. Does that make Obama a communist? He knew a radical student activist in Chicogo linked to some terrorist plots. Does that make him a terrorist? He knew Jeremiah Wright, a racist minister, and does that make him one, too? The interviews of important people on the phone was irritating. Just filming them in the room or with some of the flashy visuals would have been better. There were so many real news events with disappointing responses from Obama that could have been shown here. I really don't buy the idea he's acting on an anti-colonial plan inspired by his father he only knew as a small child. Comparing this with Obama's current record was an interesting theme, but still, a better lecture than a movie. I might add that our so called "liberal" democrats like John Kerry that say we should vote for Obama because he killed someone (Bin Laden) made better statements of why I won't vote for him.
