Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

The empire strikes back took everything from it's predecessor and made it even better. This movie has the characters from the last movie and vastly improved them while introducing new characters. The empire strikes back has a lot more iconic momments and an iconic twist. And the empire strikes back is hands down the best Star Wars movie ever!

Don't know how they did it, especially with the sequel curse, but I would say this is even better than the first movie! The acting was stellar and there were more jokes tossed around. The Hoth battle was fantastic and is one of the best scenes especially from the time frame the movie was made in. New characters were introduced as Han and Leia's love grew. It was especially hard to say goodbye. But then the ending Darth Vader being Luke's father was just an amazing plot twist!! Highly impressive!!!

I hold this movie up with the first greatest sequel of all time, The Bride of Frankenstein. Simply a great, and breathtaking movie from the opening battle on Hoth to the great reveal by Vader (which I still won't mention here). The story flows brilliantly and is a more than worth successor, and in some ways is better, that A New Hope. One of the best movies of the 1980's and beyond.

This is, without a doubt, the best Star Wars movie. Although my personal fave is Return of the Jedi, Empire Strikes Back is a great movie. Everything about it is perfect. Plot, characters, relationships, dialogs, acting, music (of course), scenography, and even the feeling of watching a good movie. There is a spirit of an adventure. The movie is fun and funny. I especially love scenes on Millennium Falcon. The Han-Leia interactions, R2-3PO, Han-3PO, Chewie-3PO (yes, I love 3PO :P). Yoda scenes. The Luke-Vader duel and heavy story impact in this (not like the duels in prequels). Well, english isn't my mother tongue and I only wrote it, because IMDb wanted me to to complete my profile, so I thought, why not the best SW movie? Especially if SW is my life? Just go watch and appreciate this movie. I think it is the best episode to start with this saga. If you'll get interesed after this (and you should) you'll watch the rest (and find out what you missed in A New Hope).
