I love this movie so much
Admirable film.
This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
Not a bad horror movie but there didn't seem to be a point to it. The whole thing was just a cat chasing mouse situation and there was no actual climax. I spent the entire movie waiting for it to start. There were a few scary gross moments but the tension and suspense were missing. It is nothing like the original.I was also disappointed with John Jarrett. He just wasn't as creepy. He was your run of the mill psychopath...nothing special this time around. It was still entertaining but you could certainly give it a miss.WARNING: This movie has way too much animal cruelty. It was lucky that the special effects were super fake but it still made me want to be sick.
This film is brutal, graphic and unrelenting. I have seem many horror films in my life, but during one of the scenes in the film, I stopped the film to take a breather. The scenes in the film are so disturbing that I would definitely not recommend it to people who haven't seen a horror film in their lives and for those persons who are sensitive in nature. The rating I have given to this film is justified. It succeeds in the portrayal of a soulless serial killer who kills his victims in the most unimaginable ways. He doesn't take any pleasure in killing - it has become a way of life to him. In the film he states himself to be a pig-hunter. Indeed he dismembers and castrates his victims like any butcher would do when slaughtering a pig.I wonder what was going on in the mind of the director as he was filming the most intense and brutal parts of this film.Plot: Highway patrol officers Gary Bulmer and trainee Brian O'Connor are parked by a road and want to fine someone for speeding. A man drives past and they pull him over, claiming he went over the speed limit when he was actually under the limit. The officers mock and belittle him, giving him a speeding ticket and an order to get rid of his truck.Watch the film to find out what happens next...You may also like: Red Dragon 2002, The Silence Of The Lambs 1991, Hannibal 2001, Manhunter 1986, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 1986, Wrong Turn Pentalogy 2003-2013, Hatchet Trilogy 2009-2013, I Saw The Devil 2010, Citizen X 1995, Evilenko 2004, Albert Fish: In Sin He Found Salvation 2007, The Gray Man 2007, Cannibal(Marian Dora 2006), Dahmer 2002, Ted Bundy 2002, To Catch A Killer 1992.
Katarina & Rutger are a couple of German backpackers touring across Australia and one of their stops along the way is Wolf Creek Nature Reserve. It's here that they decide to camp for the night, but it's also here that they come across outback bushman, Mick Taylor. Mick tries to "advise" the couple that they aren't allowed to camp there and offers them a lift to a place that does allow it, but when they refuse, Mick doesn't take it too kindly. While Rutger isn't so lucky, Katarina manages to get away and is picked up by unsuspecting traveller, Paul. Soon realising what is going on when Mick shows up, Paul is dragged into a vicious game of cat-and-mouse and a fight for survival.Wolf Creek 2 isn't actually too bad of a sequel, especially if you don't mind watching a movie you don't have to put any thought process into. The 1st one was a bit more on the psychological side rather than gore (even though there were a few gory parts in it). This one, however, is not psychological at all and is much more gorier than the 1st so gore fans should probably enjoy this one more. Basically, this time it really is your average slasher/serial killer movie. The casting isn't too bad again but some of them are a bit annoying in all honesty and there are much more of the usual cliché's along with those "why the hell don't you just...." moments i.e. being chased by a big rig when you're driving a 4-wheel drive jeep. Hmmmmm go over the rough terrain maybe?! John Jarrett does a good job once again as Mick Taylor, but here he's much more vicious than what he was before. Actually, maybe it just seems that way because you see much more of him here. The ending for this one really is a bit of a mess as well in all honesty as it's just not realistic....unless the Australian cops are just that gullible. It just feels that it was rushed a bit too much.Anyway, overall it's not too bad. Not as good as the 1st but still a decent slasher flick.
Wolf Creek 2 (2013) ** (out of 4) Mick Taylor (John Jarratt) returns in director Greg Mclean's sequel to his 2005 cult film. This time out Taylor is once again hunting down tourists who have come to Australia and slipped into his territory. WOLF CREEK 2 is pretty much the first film done all over again with just a new group of characters to be brutally tortured and murdered. If you enjoyed the first film then there's not too much doubt that you'll also enjoy this one, although at the same time it's safe to say you'll hate this if you hated the first. I thought the first film was decent in its own right but I'm still a little confused why it was so controversial and why so many people were "shocked" by it. Both films aren't really nearly as graphic as some of the film's in this genre. With all of that said, there's some nice moments scattered throughout WOLF CREEK 2 but it's still nothing overly special. I'd say the best thing about the picture is the performance by Jarratt who clearly seems to be enjoying playing this evil character who lives to do nothing but torture. I think Jarratt is quite natural in how creepy he is but the only thing that hampers him is some rather silly lines of dialogue. The supporting players fit their roles nicely, although no one really stands out. The gore is pretty much what you'd expect, although it is a bit turned down from the previous film. The cinematography and music score are better than average and there's no doubt that Mclean knows how to tell a story.WOLF CREEK 2 runs on a bit too long and there's not enough tension to carry the film but it's certainly better than a lot of the films in the genre.
