Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
First of all i'd just like to say this is my first ever review, i bought this movie on DVD a while back and i just loved it, i knew it was a direct to DVD sort of movie and i didn't expect much...but i didn't expect this to become one of my favourite films. The film obviously isn't one of the best action films ever or...one of the best films ever, most will consider it one of the worst but thats their opinion and i respect that. The Marine 2 stars Ted DiBiase Jr who at first i never really payed attention to in the WWE, at the time this was being made he was just 'that other guy in Legacy with Randy Orton' but after i seen this, i seen him in a different light, he was really like-able in this film, the fight scenes he was in were really well done and i could feel and believe every hit and it just had me hooked, the scene in the boiler room especially was just awesome!, I seen 'The Marine' starring John Cena and as a kid who was a huge John Cena fan i loved it, but now that I'm older and have watched all three Marine films, I'm sure many would agree this one is the best of the series, DiBiase has more of the 'Average' look, he isn't really buff like Cena and quite frankly it makes the character seem more like a Marine, DiBiase isn't considered a good actor but for his first acting role he did really well In my opinion, Temuera Morrison was really good as the villain 'Damo' and the supporting cast in the film were...alright, Michael Rooker should have had more screen time though, i wish DiBiase and him had teamed up more in the film, for what this film is worth i'd definitely advise you to watch it when you have nothing to do, fancy watching a movie you haven't seen or just want to switch you're brain off to watch a film...(if that makes sense) the film doesn't take itself to seriously and really its just a popcorn flick, this movie is definitely better than most things these days, out of all the direct to DVD films I have seen, this is probably one of the best Direct to DVD movies ever, I'm Sure some people will be shaking their heads at this review but this is my opinion of the film, i love WWE, i love Ted DiBiase Jr as a wrestler and now...an actor, Roel Riene's directing was good, for a director known mostly for direct to DVD films I wasn't surprised when i seen he was the director, partly why this movie works so well, Im praying for a crossover with John Cena and Ted DiBiase crossing paths in a Marine film In the future though, if you're not a WWE fan you most likely wont like this film, if you are a movie buff you might like this film, if anything to criticise about this film it would be the effects...but they are no where NEAR as bad as a SyFy film, they effects look fake at times but only if you look at them constantly will you see this, some Of the acting makes you cringe but lets face it this film Wasn't made to win any awards for best acting or best...anything but its still believable at times, the dialogue is pretty decent, the scene when Ted's running off and Michael Rooker says "Give em hell Marine" is one of my favourite lines and scene of the film. So if you haven't seen this film, see it, you can only love it or hate it, if you hate WWE then stay away...because it wont make you fall In love with WWE...i think, anyway if you blame WWE studios and say this is their worst well...you clearly haven't seen Knucklehead :)
This is a complete mockery to all that is Marine. I understand that for the sake of the film location and whatever possessed the costume designer or the director or whomever to put them in ACU fatigues rather than MARPAT like Marines wear (imagine that!). Or, more than likely, handmade camouflage custom for the environment.. Marines would NEVER engage a target in an environment that compromised not only their location but ALSO the safety of dozens of civilians. A Marine sniper would not have taken the shot after that child discovered them. liability. Marine snipers are like the ninjas of the Marines. You never see them coming, you never see them going. BANG! splat, thud. disappear. This film is a disgrace and DOES NOT RATE the title of MARINE!!!! Anyone who believes differently is either ignorant or delusional.
The Marine 2 is an action movie which I interested when it was announced. I actually saw The Marine which made me "very very" disappointed with the "very very" bad ending and some amateur movie's directing style. (I have to blame this to Jon Bonnito and his crew who destroy the viewer's happiness) Therefore, I tried to watch The Marine 2 which I deeply hoped that it could be better. After the ending. I thought the Marine 2 is better than its prequel. It didn't show anything that looked silly or unreasonable, but it elevated violence as well. We still saw the bomb flick and many intense scenes, especially in the second half of the film. However, for the overall it's not the whole "great" movie, but if you want to see the mixed of action and drama film, The Marine 2 is the one of your choices.
'The Marine 2' is boring film, with zero entertainment value. It has a predictable plot, it has a lot action, a few smooches and anything we have visited a thousand times before. Such films promise entertainment, but over-here the promise is not fulfilled. There is only plus point of the and that is Ted Jr. He's a good wrestler and his energy is quite good. He's the sole saving grace. But what is a talented actor like Michael Rooker doing in this film? He's wasted. This film is a poor show all the way. Watch Cena's 'The Marine' again instead.
