Good story, Not enough for a whole film
When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
The funny action among the family paired with the hilariously exaggerated events at middle school made the film a charming comedy. I enjoyed the acting of Zachary Gordon, the mother, and Rodrick the most, well done!
In all honesty I personally think this one is better and more funnier then the last one. In this movie we get to explore the brother relationship between Greg and Rodrick. Rodrick teaches Greg how to be lazy and get other people to do his stuff for him. Also the song in this move (Loaded Diaper) was good and memorable. Confession time: I confess when I first saw this movie and the minute when Holly Hills (Payton List) entered I actually had a massive crush on her and I thought she was very beautiful in everything. In terms of cast like with the previous movie they all nailed their parts. Again this was different from the book but unlike the last movie I actually like both the book and the movie equally. If you enjoyed the previous movie you would enjoy this.
Summer is over, and school starts again. Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) falls for pretty new girl Holly Hills (Peyton List). He continues to fight with his brother Rodrick (Devon Bostick). So his mom (Rachael Harris) tries to force them to get along. This is better than the first one. Rodrick is given a much bigger role. It's always funny to have Greg can picked on, rather than simply doing stupid things all on his own. Devon is actually a good actor, and he deserves to have the screen time. It's also nice to see Rachael Harris and Steve Zahn have a slightly bigger role. The humor is still the same Diary style. It just works better with a more 3D portrayal of the family.
This series of films has really sneaked up on me from nowhere and grabbed my attention.Having never read the source material, or having any intention of watching the movie, I came across the first one, and then my daughter wanted me to watch this. And I must say, it's a refreshing change to see a movie that can be classed as a family movie for once, that doesn't include smutty innuendo, coarse language, and features one of the truest teenage parties I have ever scene (no alcohol, no smoking, just fun). The films narrative centres around the bonding of the two brothers and their struggles to tolerate each other. It's all done very well, and the cast are great, especially Zahn, and the guy who plays Rodrick. It's a great movie for all the family, and I'm looking forward to seeing the next installment.
