A little girl living on an isolated ranch claims to have formed a bond of friendship with a pure white, "wild" stallion. The horse is well known in the area, almost legendary, and supposedly vicious. Is she just making it up, or is she telling the truth? If it's real, isn't it dangerous for her with a "killer" horse? Or is the horse as vicious as he's been portrayed?

It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
From a mailing list I'm on ... "There is a film buff from San Francisco, Sid Bloomberg, who DOES have SNOWFIRE available for sale in both DVD and VHS formats. (Sorry, it's apparently not available in either PAL or SEC format.) The price - shipping and handling included - is $38.00. So for all those HORSE-SENSE subscribers who are still in search of SNOWFIRE: Here is Mr. Bloomberg's web site, which includes his contact information: http://www.blsinc.com/rarefilms.htm" I have never seen the movie myself so I don't know how good or bad it is. I just figured I would share this info with those that are crazy about the movie SNOWFIRE.
I secured a copy of this on DVD+r for my sister this Christmas. It was recorded off a VHS recording of a late night showing off some Los Angles TV station however it is in color and better than not having it.Well I tried leaving the link but this web site had a problem with it. Seems it didn't like the word Snowfire in the link itself and my text was too short ten lines minimum. So where you find it is go to the I offer web site and search Snowfire in all categories among the books there will be a seller named TV time machine the picture of the white horse isn't snowfire's but the movie is the 1958 movie with the megowan family
Please contact me if anyone has any form of this movie! It's my very favorite movie from childhood, and I was deeply touched when I first viewed it in all it's magestic glory. Granted, the "branding scene" seems a bit harsh now, but during the innocence of that time, it was just part of the movie, for symbolism of what the horse meant to the girl...it had really no other weird conotations. Anyway, I will keep looking, (maybe on E-Bay?) and please let's keep each other posted on possibilities for getting this movie for viewing! Thanks,[email protected]
I've been looking for a release of this for the last few years as well. Even though this was the story of a young girl, and I was a little boy, I still loved it. If anyone knows who we need to contact to encourage such, please post it here so we can all see it. This was a great film. I looked forward to it each year on Family Classics here in Chicago. It was always one of my favorite movies. It's been so long that I don't even remember too much about the plot, other than that I loved watching it. I now have a 10 year old son that I'd like to share this movie with. It's too bad VCR's weren't available when this was being broadcast :-( . Hopefully someone out there can find a copy and make it available to those of us who love it.
