Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.
This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
There is nothing new in this flick. Having seen the superb south Indian (Tamil) version of Singham 2 (A sequel to singham, both brilliantly presented by Hari, starring Surya) rented this film with a lot of expectations. First few minutes told me what was to be expected, but still I waited to see whether this got any connections with the first singham movie other than the name hero (and his name), or does this have anyway related to Tamil version of Singham 2, and ... nothing... that was it! I was totally disappointed. My opinion for the viewers is that TO BE AVOIDED iff you are expecting a sequel to first successful singham.
In a particular scene the chief minister of the state asks the police commissioner(wearing the insignia of an Additional Director General) of Mumbai to step down and is lured to be given a promotion to the rank of Inspector General, whereas a police I.G is junior to an Addl DG/DG.The movie lacks conviction and simply wanders around without direction. The role of Kareena is unclear and is quite insignificant. The producers could have done with any average actress instead of roping in a star like Kareena.More or less - Just a tolerable flick with nothing memorable. Rohit Shetty not up to his mark at all except his trademark vehicle blowing and shooting up stunts. The punch line - "Ata maji satakli" has been overused.
Singham Returns is not a remake of Singham 2(Tamil) but a new script altogether, this shows the directors intent on building a franchise rather than just doing a Masala movie!!!!!Plot Review : Firstly 7/10 is purely on the basis that this is for the jolly audience who like Masala flick. Singham starts from where it left off in part 1 with stunts getting better. Anupam Kher as Guruji the righteous leader and Baji's teacher is typical of the political rolemodel all movies have, Prakash Rao & Babaji are again the typical politician and the pesudo-spiritual bad guys. Its insanely funny to see the baba in beer & shorts soon after a spiritual discourse. The shootout where Anup Kher is killed reminds of a GTA Style mission & Ajay Devgan does an AOE when the whole Police Departments quits and runs through the baddies. There are a few scenes where you really feel the tribute to the POLICE given is less indeed . The scene when the honest constable's wife is ready to do house hold chores reminds us of the harsh reality the police family faces. Singham, totally is mix of all emotions and turns out to be a nice bhel poori.Acting: Ajay Devgan carries the whole movie from start to end and does a decent job. Anupam Kher is flamboyant as usual but its Amole Gupte the Babaji who as the comic-serious villain is a treat to watch. Kareena Kapoor has little to do. CID Fame Daya is given a decent role and even as his trademark scene when Ajay orders "Daya Darwaja tod"Pros: The Movie is deserved tribute to the Police, Decent Acting, Engaging Story Line Cons: Predictable!!!!
krish,dhoom3,holiday,kick,singham returns and lots of recent bollywood movies these movies which are direction less mindless story less.only some names like salman amir hrithik ajay akshay link up and they cross 100 Crores. 200 Crores. so this is clear people don't wanna watch movies they are just following stardum of these actors, but if you really want to watch movie which have direction story and some mind blowing action then just watch WAAR.budget of this movie is only 10 to 15 crores.and Considering the limitations and trends in local cinema Waar is truly a masterpiece. It outclasses most of Bollywood's action movies and is even better than some Hollywood Movies (Mind you if you are a fan of Hollywood action movies like Expendables etc)and watch another movie name Khuda Kay Liye, then decide what to watch or whats not.
