Too much of everything
I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Crappy film
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Stupid. Vulgar. Trashy. Sleazy. Garbage. 8 out of 10 times, I'm there! But "Sisters Of Death" is one of those very, very rare films that can shoot for a lowly, lowly target and miss. This film seems to be made by people who would try and make a porno film and then, keeping the actors fully clothed, have them arm wrestle. I can have great affection for bad or dubious films, but I truly hate "Sisters of Death." I can't stand the people who are in it, the people who made it, or the people who overrate it on IMDb!!Another thing I hate about SOD is that so many people have apparently seen it on cheap videos. I saw it on my nook on a cheapo public domain movies app. Truly, this is one film that should have never emerged from the lab. Yuck. You can probably see it free on Youtube, as it infects the world with it's presence.
This was by no means an excellent movie, but it passed the time and held my attention. The acting wasn't bad, thought the script was skeptical. Why would anybody with sense get in a car with two men they don't know and drive to an unknown destination? During the movie, everybody knows there is a crazy guy in the house who plans on killing the guests. Gee, this is the perfect time to get undressed and change into pajamas to go to sleep, why not take a shower too? These girls are stupid. Who could sleep at a time like that? Why would you take a shower?
This is definitely one of the more obscure entries in the slasher world, seems as though this one came out before the famous Slasher boom of the 80's and just before "Halloween". "Sisters Of Death" is a somewhat odd and interesting entry with mixed results. This movie almost never gets mentioned on any forum or discussion and I can't really see why, it's not a bad movie by any means but not a great one either, but I have a somewhat soft spot for it, the storyline is pretty basic we get five members of a sorority invited to a Mexican villa and are soon terrorized by a serial killer who is seeking revenge for something that happened many years ago. This does kind of echo "The House On Sorority Row" in my opinion and has true potential, but overall this movie is rather plain and disjointed and very little blood or gore, but the twists and turns that this movie takes are pretty effective and even surprised me, especially the ending which was totally out of leftfield but I rather enjoyed. The cast were also decent enough the women were very lovely and acted rather well in their individual roles, Cheri Howell stood out for me, she was one of the more interesting cast members and Claudia Jennings was another highlight especially during the climatic scenes. All in all "Sisters of Death" is a rather decent entry, but not quite memorable enough to be considered a classic within' the genre but I still found it rather enjoyable.
I can't say much more than other reviewers. A group of particularly dumb people hook up at rich man's house, and do dumb things and get themselves killed. The fact of the matter is, they had all the tools at their command to disable that electric fence (or short circuit it). The bad guy hangs out in his room and leaves them alone most of the time. They can come and go, plot, talk, do whatever, but no one comes up with a decent idea to get them out. Then there are a series of ridiculous plot twists that leave us guessing (guessing why we ever watched this in the first place). The girls are all attractive and run around in swim suits, but that is really damning with faint praise. Why is it when people start getting killed, the characters do things like take showers, away from the rest of the group. Or go nosing around "by themselves." There is truly strength in numbers. These people never figured that out.
