Did you people see the same film I saw?
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
This movie is about some friends who go away to a closed ski-resort and there, a mystery killer-skier is lurking around the slopes... a killer that maybe connects to something that happened in the past at this place!?.... watch and you will find out!first of: I liked the killer outfit! Simply but nice! I also liked the abandoned ski-resort, the whole place was creepy and exiting. I think it was a great place for a murder movie. The place and the killer was the best about this movie! The place is amazing and the killer is cool. I think you will like it too! I agree with others here about the movie in general, it was a movie that sucked sometimes but sometimes it was actually really nice too! When I see a movie I try to look past the bad things - like a weird conversation or a character that is acting strange like a perverted sheriff or when someone takes a stranger with them - without a doubt... It sucks when this kind of scenes pop upBut there are good scenes too and lets enjoy them! I am no slasher/horror expert and I don't want to try to be one. I just wanted to tell you about the good things in this movie. For me its important with the back story and also the place. I wanted to give thumbs up for these details in this movie! There will always be details that you miss, for me its about more scenes of the killer lurking and also maybe a scene when the killer is listening to the teens in secret. I like the movie and I have bought it! I don't want to complain too much, I want to see the good! And shine a light on it!
If you like comedy, horror, sexy gals, nudity and girls running around in their underwear, this is the film for you. There is great photography from Idaho over snow covered slopes and mountains along with a trail of blood and guts. This story starts off with a group of young people who enjoy snowboarding and some just love to just plain ski and they are invited to a friends ski lodge. However, the local town people are not very happy about their arrival in their community because there was the killing of a very young gal which caused many problems and the lodge has been closed down with hopes of opening it up real soon. This is a good Halloween film and it will hold your interest. Enjoy.
I bought this flick from Amazon.com used. For three bucks I figured I couldn't go wrong. I have read a lot of mixed reviews on it and figured that it must have had some good in it.I grew up in the eighties, watching the old slasher films of that era and completely loving them. In the eighties I classified the slashers into three tiers. The well known and good- Friday The 13th, Halloween, and the rest. Then there are the semi-known ones like My Bloody Valentine, Slaughterhouse and Happy Birthday To Me. Lastly, the obscure gems like The Final Terror, Just Before Dawn, The Forest, Edge Of The Axe and so on.If Shredder was released in the eighties I would definitely put it in that third tier, however compared to today's shitty slashers it is a second-tier slasher film. So, the story we have here is a group of snowboarders heading out for a getaway at an abandon ski resort owned by one of the teen's father. After getting to the resort, we have the gratuitous death scenes- a snooping cop- that sets up a few potential Red Herrings. Later, the movie's pace starts to pick up pace with some drunken debauchery, sex and then some boarding. All of the elements of a classic slasher film. What I liked about this film was the killer. No, the killer wasn't wearing any cool mask wielding a razor sharp machete. The killer was a vengeful family member trying to keep rude and delinquent snow boarders off the mountain. During the movie we learn that a young girl was accidental killed by some freestyle snowboarders, and when we learn that, a new set of Red Herrings emerge. The movie really keeps the suspects fresh and new. I, myself, was guessing "who" the entire movie. That's what I miss the most about todays low budget slashers. The movie had a real secluded and confined feel. Very reminiscent of the eighties camp/woods slashers. I liked that... the movie did have a few really good and bloody )CG aided) deaths, hot chicks, breasts, a handful of suspects, and a overall fun (but cold) atmosphere.I would only suggest this movie to people who are a fan of the eighties obscure slashers. I think someone who's expecting a movie like "I Know What You Did Last Summer" they will no doubt loathe it. It's not a great movie, but it has a lot of redeeming qualities.
No, not a film about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle's nemesis, but instead a rather lame slasher flick about a bunch of teens away together on a skiing trip. True to form, they start disappearing one by one, so which one of them is the killer? Not surprisingly, it ISN'T the most obvious suspect. Add some buxom beauties for T & A purposes, a bit of blood here and there and a few minor jump scenes, and you've got yourself a direct-to-video hit. Who cares if the acting is school nativity level and 95% of the movie is just boring talk? The budget is so minuscule that if just the people in the bus queue rented it, it would still make a nice profit. But at what cost? An hour and a half of your life. Personally, I value my free time more than that. You should too. 1/10
