Talking to a DVD seller about Dario Argento titles that we have seen,I mentioned that I had not seen his 2 Masters of horror eps,due to them not coming out on DVD in the UK. Happily catching me by surprise just before the October Horror Challenge kicked off on IMDb's Horror board,the seller sent me a box set of Masters of Horror as a free gift,which included the first Argento ep!,which led to me getting ready to meet Jenifer.The plot:Sitting in a car with his partner,cop Frank Spivey spots a women about to get killed.Killing the guy,Spivey finds out from his last breath that her name is Jenifer. Lifting her up,Spivey discovers that Jenifer has a disfigured face.Unable to withstand the siren call from her,Spivey decides to invite Jenifer into the family home,which leads to Jenifer eating up everything that Spivey offers her.View on the film:Following some of the original drawings in the comic book,directing auteur Dario Argento and cinematographer Attila Szalay do well at chewing on some of Argento's more wackier themes,engraved in the deformed appearance of Jenifer continuing a theme Argento has returned to since Phenomena of the main monster(s) having a deformity that the lead overlooks. Capturing Jenifer and Spivey in a savage lust,Argento uses Jenifer's disfigurements to give the erotic atmosphere an unsettling macabre edge,with the sex scenes having a wild wolves like howl,backed by Claudio Simonetti's creepy,child humming score.Making his writing debut after coming up with the idea of bringing a Bruce Jones comic to the screen,the screenplay by lead actor/writer Steven Weber laps up the cannibal horror,set off when Jenifer comes into contact with any juicy flesh (which allows Argento to joyfully go bonkers and have Jenifer chew up a cat!) Whilst taking every bite out of the gory delights on offer,Weber disappointingly fails to get under the skin of Jenifer or Spivey and makes their lust/blood lust keep the couple as wafer characters,as Spivey finds out the Jenifer is Jenny from the cannibal block.

One of the best messed up movie's i've ever seen! I've seen a lot of horror movies of all kinds probably thousands. I absolutely love this movie. I would so recommend it, if you are in the mood for some creepy and messed up crap. It's kind of a dark mood though which made my rating an 8 but otherwise I loved it. It's mainly about this girl that has a creepy face and everyone thinks she's evil so nobody cares about her. They say when you find love nothing else matters. I guess in this movie it kind of goes hand in hand. It's story had a lot of sexual matters. I got to say a lot of gibberish in this next couple lines so I can end this review loll. WATCH THIS MOVIE! You should really like it. Keeps you thinking..

I have heard of Dario Argento and the movie that keeps coming up is Susperia. To this day, this aside, I have never seen any of his movies. But I feel that's going to change.This story is about a police detective who's kind of bored of life who shoots a man who is trying to kill this woman. The only problem is this woman is drop dead gorgeous....from the neck down! Her face is hideously deformed. But there is something about her that he can't let go. He brings her home and his wife has a problem with it and his teenage son is impressed with her body. But once he falls under her spell, his life falls apart. But still, there is something about her he can't let go.Carrie Ann who plays Jennifer is FANTASTIC! She is so into that character that as a guy I can see how you fall for her. But it raises some questions. Is Jennifer a space monster? Was she raised by animals because her parents left her in the woods for dead because she is deformed? Maybe a government experiment gone wrong. Who cares! But it also deals a little bit on how people treat other people who are not 'normal looking'.I watched it with my wife and she jokingly said this shows how stupid men are when it comes to sex. Yet, it did remind me of this girl that I went to high school with who was, shall we say REALLY BUILT, but she had pock marks on her face from bad acne but the guys still flocked to her.So, you can take is of how stupid people are when it comes to sex, but I took it as an unattractive woman who want's to be loved. And hell has no fury like a woman scorned!

I just finished watching "Jenifer" and let me the first to say that this movie had me on the edge of my seat. This movie is about a cop who saves a deformed girl from a deranged man who tried to kill her with a meat cleaver .. as the movie goes on he becomes obsessed with Jenifer.. He protects her but what he didn't know will come back to haunt him. I didn't know that such a deformed person could be so sexy.I've seen some sick movies, but this is by far the sickest movie I have ever seen. I know this will sound weird but I was so freaked out I wanted the movie to end. If you are a fan of horror you should definitely go out and get this movie.
