Let's be realistic.
Just perfect...
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
It is amazing how you can build a perfect story, a suspense and a thriller around a simple feature of a gadget!! Beautifully crafted story that was perfectly brought to life by Farhan Akhtar.. A perfect thriller is the one where whatever you are guessing keeps on turning out to be wrong and that's what happens in the movie.. A must watch for those who like 'Thrillers'..
Preceding reviews have probably hashed over details, so I won't retrace those steps. I only say these were stretching roles for Farhan and Deepika, good roles, roles they did well.I can't claim to have seen too many movies about mental illness in my years. Equus, I Didn't Promise You A Rose Garden, Looking for Mr Goodbar, Woh Lamhe are a few. Honestly, I don't think any were done better than this movie. They played it like a thriller, but the mystery turned out to be mundane. People finding success lethal is a familiar story. A couple of tricks in the plot were a little wobbly, I won't specify what they are. But the final explanation wasn't terribly improbable. Fact is that many wrongs have been done unknown to the person who did them.I forgot that Shefali Shaw was in the cast, so when they first show her, my reaction was "Juhi!" She absolutely looked like Juhi in 13 Dewarein. But for many movies now, I've really appreciated Shefali, so it wasn't too disappointing that it wasn't Juhi.So anyway, I rank it 8 of 10. It was ambitious and the principals showed themselves well. So wonderful to see Deepika in such unlikely roles.
hey everybody, don't listen critics, this is a superb movie which leaves u engrossed for the whole runtime and never runs away from its point, the characters are real and u feel part of them. the storyline is perfect, the songs are well embedded, farhan and deepika are just brilliant. and the suspense is worth sitting, the background score is enough engrossing that u feel a part of it, the moment it begins. Somehow, I could correlate to KARTHIK from the word go and loved it, I was so into the movie that I watched into full one stretch and didn't even move a single inch here and there, come what may. So forget critics, watch this superb movie and be proud that in this totally blurred and commercial age of bollywood in which actors like SRK and AKSHAY don't know nothing except to be making films for own motive, we have actors like FARHAN which r sincere and want to work from their heart, not because they want to earn money, but because they want to act.
I read the reviews before I saw the movie and was really expecting something thrilling and a mind boggling experience with Karthik calling Karthik. Though the theme seems to be good, the story drags the romantic relationship between Farhan and Deepika. For a movie which was supposed to be a thriller drama, it turns out to be more romantic in between. The middle hour is just about them and nothing to do with the theme. The movie could have been cut to one hour.I can think of three main facts that makes the movie watching experience not so good... the transformation in Karthik after he starts receiving the call is extremely exaggerated. The manner in which the character is portrayed in the beginning is successful in winning your sympathy but the 'after' character becomes over confident or over smart. The movie is not very successful in grabbing your attention throughout as it is very predictable. The thrill is just not there! Lastly, movies focusing on some odd rare disease that one in a million get has been used like a zillion times now. Really did not expect something as stupid as that in the end.One can watch the movie when s/he has nothing else to do... not a must see! Some sympathetic scenes and some suspense are the only thing you can expect in the movie.
