Anaïs is twelve and bears the weight of the world on her shoulders. She watches her older sister, Elena, whom she both loves and hates. Elena is fifteen and devilishly beautiful. Neither more futile, nor more stupid than her younger sister, she cannot understand that she is merely an object of desire. And, as such, she can only be taken. Or had. Indeed, this is the subject: a girl's loss of virginity. And, that summer, it opens a door to tragedy.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

This type of film is usually hard for me to sit through but the interaction between the characters was really interesting. The dialogue and characters seemed very predictable but throughout the movie the actors would add a small twist, just enough to keep you interested. Fred Ward is perfect in his typecast role as the grimy obsessed detective. 6/10 rating

I have read the other user comments, and I agree with the one pertaining to liking it. It is a unique movie such as to glue me to the TV at 3:30 in the morning when I should be sleeping. I was so into the relationship with the two characters I wanted to watch it till the end. Their relationship was... indescribable. I have been checking times to see it again. I advise you to see this movie if you like mind boggling events and feelings. The ending is VERY unpredictable, in my case. Others will more than likely disagree with me. But to me, this was an excellent movie, so go watch it! Check the times on Sundance! it's a movie not to miss, in my case

I don't know if the play was any better, but the dialogue in this small screen adaptation (made for German TV for some bizarre reason)is absolutely excruciating. Not to mention thoroughly unbelievable. The two characters, played by Fred Ward and Suzy Amis, are repulsive and whiny. Avoid at all costs.

I don't know. I kinda liked it. I thought this move was very much in the fashion of Tenneseee Williams. Two small bodies (Does the title refer to the dead children or the two principal characters?) talk to each other about their messed up lives. This dialog is intertwined with the detective's attempt to find the killer of the two children. I have this idea that it's the purpose of art to make you think or feel something; anything. This movie disturbed me at some level. That made it worth watching.
