Watched the film thanks to the enthusiastic reviews left on Amazon. However, I can not recommend it. I have no beef with the visuals and the budget, it was more than expected and more than sufficient. It is the actors and the script. The acting varies greatly, both with actors and scenes. None of the developments feel natural or logical. The (spoiler alert!) heat developing in the outside world caused by an obvious prank is neither explained nor shown enough; it just doesn't make sense. The parallel Alien story is not satisfying either, even though I found both creature and orbs convincingly done for a movie of this budget. Also liked how the used darkness to cover the cgi-helicopters.The main issue: a movie like this can't and should't compete with big budget actors or cgi, but should outweigh them by providing clever and (being without pressure to be a universally accepted movie) less agreeable humor. And this one doesn't. The humor is largely bland and superficial.

To start, don't expect nudity in this movie. It's a running joke. Not that 2 of the female leads aren't pretty, but that's the norm for many movies of this ilk. What sets this apart is some native American authenticity which somewhat plays into the plot, but the writing is so poor and the dialog so stilted as to lose that part of the plot. animation/CGI is a joke but to be expected for this budget. The two secondary Native American actors, the 'grandma' and 'police chief' are by far the most naturally funny (and with the best lines) that i honestly can say i laughed or chuckled at - and i tend to be a bit jaded. The FBI agents, the corporate guy, the pseudo photographer are painful and one-dimensional stereotypes, which help make this a grade C film.Sadly, it has possibilities. I wish the writer/director/editor had managed to find someone to double check their script and give the actors better lines. It's hard to tell if the acting was just poor or the script just made them look bad.All that said, I did not stop watching. I even enjoyed parts of it but suffered a bit from high expectations. Read this review, and a few of the other negative ones and then watch it. You might be surprised to also give it a "C". In summation, fun idea, a few good actors, a lot of bad actors, terrible script, cheap CGI, nice location, some authenticism.

An attempt at a slick Hollywood comedy, which is why it comes off as amateurish, since there just wasn't enough money involved to pull that off. This is especially apparent in the soundtrack, which consists of the same punk rock sample looped over and over in every music-backed scene from beginning to end. Visual effects were just this side of acceptable. Directing and acting were almost there but not quite (Elyse Levesque was one notable exception, who aside from being beautiful also manages to craft a convincingly unique and interesting character).8/10.Why? Well, for all its shortcomings, there is an apparent effort and care here on the parts of all involved (director, writers, actors, etc), resulting in what I suppose I would call an unexpected innocent charm; which not only kept me watching but also had me enjoying nearly every minute. I also feel the movie's current rating is unduly harsh and it deserves a little more recognition. Bad indie movies normally leave me struggling to keep my brain from liquifying and leaking out my ear, as they pretend to be something better than they are. This is a film that knows its limits and plays within them. It helps that the story was more original than most films of this ilk, and the production values were actually a lot better than they should have been given the constraints. I should also note that the genre of "comedy" doesn't entirely fit, as there aren't many actual attempts to make the audience laugh. This is more of a lighthearted rompy adventure, and in that regard I feel it could please more than disappoint, as long as you don't go in with other expectations.I think this writer/director could pull off some truly great work with just a little more money, and I will definitely be waiting for his next film. The actors also have great potential. In the meantime, this made for a fun little indie outing, even if it was neither slick nor artsy.PS. Despite the probably-true claim that most of the reviews so far for this movie were posted by fake accounts or people close to the production, I'm not one of those. I've been on IMDb for 11 years, have posted 50 other reviews, and had nothing to do with the production of this movie, nor do I have any connection to anyone who did.

I had the pleasure of seeing the film in the ornate Tampa Theater, where I saw the film on a whim, not expecting a lot. Boy was I surprised! This film had a great cast, and a great story to match. I was so happy to see Elaine Miles again, as a fan of the Northern Exposure show. She absolutely killed it as the no-filter, pot smoking grandma. I often see major Hollywood comedies and am often disappointed by the lack of laughs, but this movie had it in spades. This film had everything from a Blues Brothers inspired chase scene to the best of teen hijinks. Overall, this movie movie was a very fun watch and if you get the chance to see this in the theater, it is well worth the ticket price to see this on the big screen.
