Well, I'm going to say that this was the worst movie I've seen for Direct To Video Month. I skipped the previous one where he went to the hood first, but I don't care in the slightest. This movie features people in the ghetto finding the leprechaun's gold and he horribly kills them one by one. What makes this movie so stupid is that nothing in it makes any sense. We get a lot of scenes in the beginning that just focus on the human characters and it's all pointless. It's said that the leprechaun's weaknesses are his gold and four leaf clovers. They do in fact use a four leaf clover against him and nothing happens.Well, he gets shot by them but the bullets float out of his body like little yellow orbs. What? At one scene near the end, the leprechaun's gold is thrown into a furnace which should kill him, but for some reason it doesn't? We see the leprechaun melt and then he's back to normal. His gold should have been destroyed, but it's okay too. The leprechaun's chest of gold has this new ability. Whenever it's emptied, it magically refills. Why than, is the leprechaun afraid when people throw the gold coins out? It can just replenish them.I couldn't understand anything in this dumb movie. The leprechaun gives off more gory deaths including a police officer whose leg is ripped off and he doesn't even notice it at first. He also literally rips a girl's upper jaw off. Nice, huh? I admit it did kind of make me laugh with how stupid it was, particularly with how the leprechaun was shot over and over and never died. There's this psychic who tries fighting the leprechaun even though she knows she can't. I understood nothing and didn't want to. *
This is the sixth Leprechaun movie. It is better then the first five. The first four Leprechaun are scary. But this one is scarier. Why did it get 3.9. It is one of the scariest movie ever made. 3.9 is just underrating it. This movie has a great story line. It also has great acting. It also has great special effects. This movie is a most see. People don't like just don't know a good horror movie when they see it. This is scarier then the Shining (1980). And that is no easy to do. This a 10 not a 3.9. Tangi Miller is a great actress. See this movie. Do not listen to the haters. If you like a good horror movie. Then you will like this movie.
Why ?! I can ask it too many times to the film studios but why did even make a 6th one ? And also one who is almost a copy of the previous one. I would have understand that decision if the 5th one was a success, but it was terrible. And this one was, if possible, more terrible than the last one. What can you further about the last part of this terrible franchise. The storyline was again a huge fail. The leprechaun has a few moment and is defeated again so easily, they can blow him of the roof without having any difficulties with killing it.The acting was to laugh about as well so I rate this film 1/10
Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood (2003) * (out of 4) Sixth and so far final entry in the horrid series has a group of friends in the ghetto finding some gold, which they start having fun with even though they've been warned by a psychic that only evil can follow. Soon enough our beloved leprechaun (Warwick Davis) shows up for revenge. Even though the lep has headed back to the hood, this film has no connection to the previous one but it's doubtful too many people will actually care about that. If you're a fan of the series then I guess that means you'll enjoy this entry but now having seen all six movies I must say that there's no doubt that this is the worst series in horror film history. This one here, much like the previous, takes more of a comedy approach as our green man finds himself in a wide range of unoriginal situations. Of course we get a sequence where the lep is smoking from a bong and this is followed with a scene of him raiding the kitchen to get something to eat. Other silly sequences include him going up against countless gang members and we even get a scene where he has to go up against a couple crooked LAPD guys. I will admit that the scene with the police was rather funny but this is one of the few things that actually works here. The entire screenplay is just one cliché after another and there's not a single ounce of suspense to be found. Some might say the point of the movie was to make you laugh, which is fair enough but even on this level the film is bad because the majority of the laughs just miss their mark. The one good thing I can say about the film is that Davis appears to have a lot more energy than the previous movie. I thought that energy helped keep a little life in the film but not enough to make it work. The supporting performers range from bad to fair but the screenplay makes their characters so uninteresting and bland that you can't help but not give a crap about them. LEPRECHAUN: BACK 2 THA HOOD marked the final film in the series and I must admit that I'm very thankful.
