It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
I just watched this movie and got excited .I have watched a few movies which deals with the dreams and reality that includes vanila sky and inception .Lucia is a well made psychologIcal thriller and the narration is awesome. The plot is well handled by the director and the twists are unpredictable especially in the climax portion. The movie has all elements like romance ,comedy ,love ,emotion etc .The acting and performance of each and every character in the movie was very energitic. The technical aspects are well done and camera work is amazing .The screenplay is brilliant and the neo noir style visuals are well edited .once you watched the movie then you will realize how much hard work has been done by the crew .my final verdict is the movie is an edge of the seat thriller which keeps you engaged with the story and worth a watch .
Before speaking about the film there are many questions raised regarding the geniality of the review and ratings awarded to the film. After all its quite natural that a user may find it amusing that a Kannada film has managed to collect such acclaim when the current state of Kannada films present a sorry state. This film is a result of the vision of an extremely hardworking bunch of film makers as you can see that its the first Kannada film to be funded via crowd sourcing. This movie is real treat to genuine film afficianodo's.you will find that its quite a while that you watch a film with non linear pattern presented with such precision .
This movie starts strongly. But like most Indian Movies drags it a bit long. It had all the ingredients to make it good. But watching the movie makes you feel it could have been done so much better than it was. Like there are sequence of unnecessary songs. Like most Indian movies they are not required. Great story line but not so great direction doesn't quit make it a movie to watch out for. Still something new for an Indian movie. Also the climax of the movie makes you think a lot about it. All in all a great try but not quite there yet if you are expecting a Chritopher Nolan type movie.
The sort of innovation seen in Lucia has been missing from American cinema for many years. In fact, I have seen no more than five films ever, that can be compared to Lucia's fast pace and edgy feeling. When I watched this, it did not take long for it to be clear that what I was watching was different from almost everything that I had seen previously. It reminded me of films like Fight Club, Oldboy, and Night of the Hunter in that all of these films are strikingly different from everything else. In this way Lucia is truly refreshing, but it is far more than that. It is impossible to watch Lucia without being impressed by its plot which can really only be described as awesome. The story is complex but never difficult to follow and the characters always come first. Lucia is easy to relate to even across countries and languages because it examines common themes of love and life, and easy to be impressed by because it takes on these ideas in an altogether new fashion.
