Three friends from Delhi go missing in a small village - Jhanjhar, in Bihar. It's 2 months and there is no clue about their disappearance. The media and students movement demand action from the authorities. It's then that the government orders a Central Bureau of Investigation enquiry with officers Sidhant Chaturvedi (Akshaye Khanna) and Pratap Kumar (Ajay Devgn) to solve the case.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
When I saw Aakrosh, I thought to myself 'Wow Priyadarshan can make some really good hard-hitting films. He made some really good comedies but now his comedies are working no more, so he has exploited a new genre and that too very well'. But then I read somewhere that this film is inspired from the Hollywood movie Mississippi Burning. So I brought that film and saw it to compare and contrast and I bet you there is nothing to contrast. Aakrosh is straight life almost scene to scene and dialogue to dialogue from Mississippi Burning. The only difference is that Mississippi Burning deals with civil rights in America during 1964 and Aakrosh deals with honour killings, which was a hot topic at the time of its making. However the acting by both Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna did justice to Gene Hackman and William Defoe's acting. But all in all it is a straight lift (lifts from Hollywood disgust me). You can make films after being inspired that's a whole different story, but lifts are uncreative and something to be ashamed of.You should have the guts to claim that the movie is a lift. First you copy something, which in this case, by the way, is a blatant act of plagiarism, and then you claim it as your own is shameful.Indian film makers who do such heinous acts should be ashamed of themselves. Moreover they should stop making films if they have run out of ideas, or at least credit the film from which they are copying.I have changed my rating from 6 to 3 after watching Mississippi Burning.
aakrosh is a movie about honor killings, involving politics & other issues. directed by Priyadarshan who is known for his funny movies.like Hera Pheri 2000 & Garam Masala 2005.. this time he directs a serious movie aakrosh starting ajay, akshay khanna, reema sen & bipasha & paresh rawal at their best.some students gets kidnap & people do a lot of protests for it.2 special agents from gov agencies are assigned to solve this case they meet up for the first time & as they work together they get into deep mess. they solves the case & all bad guys in the end are killed by the village girl name jamunia(reema sen)..impressive movie bu ill minus 2 points because it was copied from Hollywood movie called Mississippi burning.8/10
Bollywood has a habit of making remakes from hit Hollywood titles.Example: Baazigar= a kiss before dying, Ghajni= Memento, Sarkaar= The Godfather, The Criminal= The Fugitive, Partner= Hitch, Koi Mil Gya= E.T The Extraterrestrial, Munnabhai MBBS= Patch Adams, Sholay= The Magnificent Seven, Darr= Cape Fear, God Tussi Great Ho= Bruce Almighty, Singh is King= Frank Capra's Lady For A Day, Pyaar Ka Saaya= Ghost (The list is endless....)Mr. Mahesh Bhatt(Stinky Butt) is the great pioneer of copying from Hollywood. Most of his films are cheap Hindi remakes of Bollywood films. And now Aakrosh= Mississippi Burning (1988).Need I go on? Q. Are there no good scriptwriters currently in Bollywood? A. No. Period. There will come a time when they will shut down Bollywood and just dubb the Hollywood films in Hindi, since these actors(or Jokers) cost a lot of cash. This cash could be used to feed the poor people in India.Plot of film: same as the original from which it is copied. A bunch of students go missing. A couple of officers are sent to investigate. And in the end justice is served. End of story.Bottom line: if you haven't seen Mississippi Burning, watch it first and then see the cheap remake Aakrosh. If you have already bought the DVD, I think you can use it as a frisbee(flying disc) for fun and enjoy playing with it, with your pet dog.Score 3/10= very bad.
Lets start off with the actors. First of all, Ajay Devgan and Akshaye Khanna were great; they both played the roles of no-nonsense, strong minded CBI officers very well. We're not used to seeing Paresh Rawal in such a role, but he also did very well. Bipasha Basu was also good and Reema Sen did well too in her role. The story itself is good; it keeps you hooked all the way which makes it a good thriller. Priyadarshan has done a good job. There's nothing special about the music, though the track 'isaq se meetha' is alright.Verdict: Watch it; you'll be kept at the edge of your seat for most of the film. I give it 8/10
