Good movie but grossly overrated
Absolutely Brilliant!
True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
The art of storytelling perfected with visual treat of the natural beauty of rural India, topped with an extra dose of realism. This movie is a perfect example that proves – it doesn't take big budget, visual effects, sophisticated CGIs and established actors to make an excellent movie. It narrates a love story that's caught in the unfortunate caste/class feud that still haunts India. The director has used this mundane plot which has been oversold in Indian films in almost all languages, and magically turned it into something unbelievably extraordinary. It's a long movie - about 3 hours, but there's not a single dull moment. The first half is filled with innocent humour the keeps the audience entertained and is followed by captivating stretches of reality. The excellent music and songs just adds value to an already exceptional movie. A must watch Indian classic!
The movie is awesome.Actually I don't see marathi movies and I don't know about this movie when it released. Then some of my marathi friends were prasing about this movie and recommend me to watch this. Then I watch this in my mobile. And the first marathi movie I watched and loved it.Believe me awesome film. The direction was nice. The story was good and it tells us that love does bot see upper or lower castes. And its true. The end was very sad and emotional. The screenplay was good.Acting was good from the Lead male and the female lead was cute and acted good. The songs were awesome especially zingat. But only the editing was a lil bad it should be edited more.Overall a must watch film.Watch this film to enjoy your summer vacation. My opinion a must watch film you will definitely like this one.And no one will dislike this movie.
As someone who does not speak Marathi, this was my first exposure to its cinema. I saw the people behind this movie interviewed on a comedy show and it seemed like it would be worth checking out. Overall it was a decent movie. I think it was a bit too long for the content and message it conveys. There was nothing new really, the same vein as Romeo/Juliet, QSQT, Ishaqzaade and on and on. Hopefully the movie will help many naive couples who are experiencing puppy love during their adolescent years. The patriarchy ingrained in the culture and the antiquated value of viewing women of the family as personal property leads to so called "honor" killings. The first half of the movie was way too long, it got better in the 2nd half; the last 15 mins are the best part of the movie. Truly haunting.
What a movie, Great direction supported by excellent acting. Very natural and realistic, Never felt these actors are complete new comers.. great to see such movies being made in regional languages, away from regular glittery over the moon movies. Ending was chilling which emphasizes honor killings, which are happening even in this so called modern India. There are many other scenes told in the background like couple being thrashed by some mobs when lead actors are riding on their activa.. small but powerful points brought up which needs to be looked into and thought of. Wish to see many more such movies being made by Indian film industry.
