Flight World War II
June. 02,2015 NRInternational Flight 42 is on course, when all of a sudden a massive and weird storm crops up around the plane. This sends the plane back in time to the year 1940- smack dab in the middle of WWII! Now, the crew and passengers must not only find a way back to their time, but fight off the Axis powers.

A Disappointing Continuation
Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
Sorry, even if you are a history, sci-fi or WWII airplane buff steer clear of this one, regardless of the high amount of interest the plot-line might suggest. No amount of creative license can make the tidal wave of incorrect historical references and events in this movie plausible. The piloting, as well as the mechanical aspects of the aircraft, are so far off the beam, I could simply no longer stand to watch it. (I won't even start with the "radar" technical impossibilities). The acting/actors were mediocre at best, but this film contained so many historical inaccuracies I just couldn't get past, that I barely noticed their collective performances. To start, one two-second burst from a WWII era, Messerschmitt 262's quad 30MM cannon would have reduced the Boeing 757 to a flaming wreck, before it instantly plummeted to the ground. (I think this jet took about 800 hits and kept right on going). Even a highly armored, ruggedly built Boeing B-17 of that time could not survive a short burst of this type of firepower, let alone a passenger jet. Further(disregarding the incorrect date/time of the 262's appearance in the European theater) they flew at around 400 knots cruise speed, with a top speed of about 600 mph. They did not have the capability of overtaking a 757 flying at its top speed. (But they DID have the maneuverability to actually pull out of a dive. See picture- laughable). As to the piloting; trying to pull a 757 out of a high speed dive at an altitude of 1000 feet would have resulted in two things: a high speed stall, and impact with the ground. (Even if it only carried the 12 passengers the low-budget set showed). They threw it around the air like a P-51 Mustang. By the way, there were also no fighter vs. fighter aerial dogfights at night during WWII, nor were the piston-engine (RAF) fighters then capable of overtaking, out-climbing, and shooting down ME-262's, as shown (at night) in the movie.Again, in spite of a plot-line that would make WWII gamer's overly excited, just so many implausible/incorrect/technically deficient presentations of technology of both 1940's (and current) time periods the movie becomes a parody of itself. So many in fact, I cannot begin to skim the surface in this short review. Too bad, as a more accurate version with a budget higher than the $29.95 used for this one, could be a sci-fi blockbuster.
Captain William Strong (Faran Tahir) is the pilot of a mundane flight to London, when Flight IR42 flies through a mysterious wormhole that pulls craft, crew and passengers into a World War ll war zone in 1940's France. Dodging anti-aircraft fire provides major turbulence and danger; Captain Strong is open for suggestions on how to get back to the century they belong and do it before the German Luftwaffe hits them dead on. Enter help in the form of a British radio Corporal Nigel Sheffield (Robbie Kay), who believes this outlandish situation can be reversed.Other players include: Aqueela Zoll, Adam Blake, Angie Dick, Blaine Gray, Matias Ponce and David Campfield.
People need to cut this movie a bit of slack. It's just meant to be fun. It's not meant to be anything else. Sure the history is bizarre. That's even pointed out in the movie, as they discuss the Battle of Dunkirk - in this movie it didn't turn out the way it actually turned out. So, somehow, history is a little bit different, which perhaps helps to explain a lot of what seem to be historical inaccuracies. They're not inaccurate. The timeline is just a little bit different. Folks need to stop fixating on that and accept the movie as sheer entertainment. From that perspective it worked quite well.International Airlines Flight 42 from Dulles to Heathrow encounters a weird storm over the Atlantic, and when passing through it also somehow goes back in time - emerging over the French coast during a German bombing raid in 1940. Nobody knows how it happened, and it takes a while for everyone to be convinced that it has happened - but however it happened, it happened, and it's enjoyable enough to watch as the crew and passengers come to terms with their situation and try to develop a plan to get out of it alive. It's a low budget, sci-fi movie about time travel featuring a largely little known cast. You have to know that going in to it and set your expectations accordingly. I think the rating this movie gets here (4.4 at the time of writing) is ridiculously low. I'm going to give it an 8 - not because it's a great movie - but because in spite of its limitations it accomplishes what it sets out to accomplish. It's fun and it entertains. I had no trouble watching it from beginning to end - which is more than I can say for a lot of big budget movies with mega-stars.
Flawed at some places but overall quite fascinating, entertaining popcorn thriller. I watched Flight World War II at outness and I really liked it. The plot storyline is quite interesting. International Airways Flight 42 from Washington Dulles to London Heathrow travels through a storm and is transported to the skies over France in June 1940. Although the crew tampered with history and all of this is history fiction and science fiction, this was a perfect, dazzling popcorn thriller. Terrific performances from the cast, spectacular and realistic visual effects and uncertainties/mystery and suspense after the plane flies through the storm makes this film truly one of my favorite popcorn filled thrillers. Have you ever heard of Summer Fun? Well, this is one of the films. It's tense, taut and energetic and was TRULY one hell of a ride. The CGI visuals of the planes, war zone bombings and gunfire was so spectacular, realistic and amazing. This is a really good animation effort to bring history to life. Overall, 10/10. Stop hating the film and just be positive even though it has flaws. Bring your popcorn and enjoy the show!
