The movie hits you with a bunch of stuff that normal people won't follow. There is a mirror,a shield, a necklace, a sword, and the real sword. These are all related in a story with too much information to follow. But don't worry. You don't have to. The story line is simpler than the complex explanation: Good guys fight bad guys.People fight in games in an alternate dimension, that is made virtual with ear pieces. It combines magical ancient oriental artifacts with Bluetooth technology. There is also an evil spirit that can be let loose which will make the games real. Maggie Q fights in a short skirt with stockings. She dates a man who was a former champion. But is really not her boyfriend...While the fighters are having a meeting, a man (Rugal, Ray Park) decides to bring a gun to a fist fight, runs off with the artifacts, and physically goes into that other dimension. The CIA is monitoring the activity. Maggie Q is instructed to go find a man who is in a mental institution, one where all you have to do is go up to the front desk and ask to speak to a patient and they unlock the door for you.Rugal has taken control of the games and issued a challenge to all the remaining reality fighters, except they don't know they will be fighting with their own lives!Once he beats up all the fighters, he gets the title "King of Fighters" for what it is worth. (What is that? Like a level 72 in WOW?) At this point, unless Rugal (I would have named Nigel) wins and rules the world, the plot is predictable. Maggie is not much of an old world traditionalist. She likes the "R" word: reason. Sean Faris plays the son of a former fighter (the man in the mental institution). He is into Zen and motorcycle maintenance. (Oh! How did the writers ever come up with that! They should have made him a minor league baseball player and have him use his skills later on, a nice tie-in.)On the plus side, women fight in short skirts. On the negative side: They needed to add a little humor. The movie had some funny lines except they were delivered in a stiff manner. David Leitch who played investigator Terry Bogard absolutely stank. He had the best lines in the movie and screwed them up. They really needed a funny Bruce Willis. The story line was fine, it could use a few tweaks, but the poor dry dialogue dragged the movie down. If you like girls fighting in short skirts in an alternate reality, try "Sucker Punch."No sex, no nudity, no f-bombs. Near lesbian scene. Excessive amount of CG style fighting.

I'm looking at some of the reviews and it just cracks me up. To those that haven't played the game and followed it's storyline, the movie was just a below average action movie without hardly a unique story. It was simple to tell what was going to happen in the end. The "bad guy" was a terrible actor who made the movie felt like it was an updated version of Power Rangers. The effects were pretty lame as well... I know it was a low budget but most of the action scenes looked fake. The Pros? This movie had a few hot chicks. Maggie Q is hot and there were some turn on scenes. The picture was actually pretty good too and I think most of the money went to that. The Cons? Pretty much the whole movie.. With Maggie Q you could have gotten a little more attention if she did a "dirty scene" There was the other 2 fighter girls which would have probably attracted some attention. The action was below average. The cast was just plain lame. The "bad guy" was just a laugh and the story was just simple with hardly any concept put in it. So 3/10

There are some movies that if you are fan of what is about to be told in that movie, you can say "errr.. It's a bad movie i know but what can i do? i love this cartoon/anime/video game etc." i have been playing KoF games more than 11 years but i have never imagined that a movie about this game would be so painful to me. It was total agony. All the characters obviously have been killed by the script writers. Cast is dead. There is a soundtrack in the movie but believe me, if the movie would be a movie without soundtrack no one would argue that.Everything was 'so' awful in this movie that i couldn't believe this movie took rating more than 2. Total mediocre. Pain. Agony. Disaster. Catastrophic. 0/10

Do not watch this movie at all. Dun even bother to watch or download online. Read below to find out why We have seen how Street Fighter failed, we have seen how Dragonball failed, not forgetting to mention Tekken. Why are they doing it again for King Of Fighters??!! Its either these people have too much money to spend or too few people to irritate. I didn't even finished the movie and left the cinema after the Vice, Mature and Iori fight scene. If you all had noticed, all the top Japanese fighting games that turn into a movie all failed to have a sequel... Why? I am gonna list it out in the context of KOF 1. Poor Cast - Face it! This is a Japanese based game, if the character is Japanese, I.E Kyo, use a Japanese or at least an Asian. When i first saw the poster i was like WTH~~ Who is Who? Rugal stands at least 2.5 meter tall and he have longer hair. Mai is fair, voluptuous and wears a sexy red kimono alike costume. In the movie, NONE of the character matched...ZERO. If you cant find the right cast at least make the right costumes for goodness sake...Even the moves are wrong...2. Poor Plot - To create a plot out for a fighting game is not easy. But they aren't putting in any effort at all. Headsets? 3rd dimension? Relics? *slap forehead* They could have done a simple background story for each major character and they come together for a tournament organized by Rugal. Which lies a bigger plot behind the tournament, to revive Orochi. But Orochi needs a strong body to possess on and thus the tournament.3. Poor Fighting Choreography - The very first fight scene between Mai and Mr.Big is a joke. If you noticed.. their moves are slow.. they are both anticipating each others move... The camera angles... Speechless Iori got owned by Rugal when Rugal is running away with the Relics. He didn't even use any of his flame moves 4. Audio & Visual Effects - The music in the movie are easily forgettable comparing to Mortal Kombat. The visual effects are OK, but too little. So please, producers there... Do us fans a favor. Seek our opinion, do your own research and do not deviate too much from the game. You will earn your Box Office, we will earn our eye-candy. Win win situation.*P.S. Imagine Superman or Spider man filmed in Bollywood...You know what i mean...
