I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Best movie ever!
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
This film is very simply about a creepy weirdo with serious mental health issues, he becomes obsessed with this woman and does what he can to get close to her. A shockingly simplistic plot, the entire film is completely void of any element of complexity.Hilary Swank ( Juliet ) redeems the lack of a story line, lack of detail and absence of other characters and insight into their character, with her convincing performance and own terribly likable character. This is an okay, average B-grade movie, with no real component of intellect to the story line. Entertaining enough to watch if it's what you have, a bit predictable, maybe a little difficult to engage in just because there is only surface value to the characters from what you see, and a lack of them to make things very interesting.Fortunately there is just enough, albeit not much element of suspense, in order for this film to be just passable in the quality and watchability department. I wouldn't recommend it but I wouldn't advise against it either.. It's something at least remotely entertaining to watch, that won't add any value to your life.
I'm quite surprised by the general poor reviews here. Must be me but I found The Resident really tense, particularly towards the end, and it had me on the edge of my seat. Fine performances from Hilary Swank and Jeffrey Dean Morgan with a small cameo from the great Christopher Lee as Morgan's spooky grandpa. Swank is a surgeon by profession and moves into a new flat owned by Morgan and a relationship gradually starts to develop, however she's on the rebound from the man she really loves, so it can only really be platonic with Morgan. This brings out the worst in this disturbed character, who at first seems charm itself, but that's all I can say without spoiling the plot. I really loved this movie and there are quite a few shocks, unless of course you're used to the constant bombardment of CGI from teen movies like the dreadful Transformers, in which case it's probably tame to you. It reminded me a lot of Audrey Hepburn's brilliant thriller Wait Until Dark from many years ago.
The other reviewers have been very accurate with this movie. It is an average movie with just as many good parts as bad. There's some definite creepy atmosphere going on but there are also many lulls in the storyline. While the idea may be plausible I don't think it was executed very well. There is something very unbelievable about Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character not being able to get himself a girlfriend. It just seems a real stretch. Sometimes you need a pitiful looking actor otherwise it feels like a Hollywood executive just gave his mate a paying job.Nice try but the casting was off.
When I see stars who stole the world's attention in past years with movie's like (Million Dollar Baby and Black Dahlia) and they take a role in a TV movie, means only one thing...you are a "has been" taking anything in hopes of a career revival. And this movie if full of nothing but disbelief for the things that happen. The movie shows close ups of her and her body (I guess she paid a lot to keep it from looking like it did in the past, a little man like in the jowl) and I must admit she looks so much better now.I had to see what year this movie was made since I had not seen it before. Surprisingly its 2011. But she should have known what goes around comes around. She won an Oscar and thanked everyone except her husband. Later apologized and then left him for her manager. I think this movie's success is poetic justice.
