Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
In truth, any opportunity to see the film on the big screen is welcome.
The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
The biggest plot twist at the end of the movie was unapologetically anti-climatic with no support from music or sound. Character development was left to mere singular scenes without progress or consideration for the lack of plot.Honestly had good expectations for this movie considering the story concept, but as first-feature for the director I must say that the disappointment in this film lays in the hands of the screenwriter. Best of luck on your next one, Charles.
Never leave reviews but had to after watching this. I very much enjoyed the story line, effects, and acting. This movie is seriously underrated. Morfydd Clark is an actress I'd never heard of and found her both gorgeous and entertaining. I'd like to see more of her work. Definitely worth relaxing and watching.
As I am passionate about the stories of being lost in another world, looked for the movie with a thrill. However, was surprised by the low rating in the IMDb. And, after seeing the movie, even more surprised. It is a rather VERY good movie of being "lost" in the virtual reality. Yes, I certainly agree that the screenplay lacked deepness, the ending leaves you just thinking, "and so, what can I learn about it?". However, the dialogues were made very good, the actors are good and the directing is good. It is not a horror movie, I hate them. This one was intelligent, very very thrilling, with a lot of suspense. A great relax in the evening with friends. There are tons of other movies with more stars but much lower quality, dialogues and suspense. Recommended!
For something with an OK concept and aimed squarely at the gaming community you might think they would have actually spoken to one or two gamers when developing the concept - it seems pretty obvious they missed that boat! I would like to point out that does not generally like to rubbish things but I was amazed that every single person in the movie was such a terrible actor and even more amazed that I was not even rooting for a single character in this movie and wanted nothing more than it to finish quickly. It was complete rubbish and I have nothing really positive at all to say about it, even the cheap attempt at a twist at the end was badly conceived and even worse in execution. In short, avoid like the plague!
