Fantastic!
An absolute waste of money
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.
.....Pat Boone was to Little Richard. They did the same songs, but it was not the same thing. One was an original, and the other was highly manufactured and didn't feel authentic. Not to say this was absolutely terrible, it is worth a watch, but nobody will be seeing it 300+ times.....nor should they
My husband and I have a running joke... and that is that "Jack the Reaper" is better than this. For those who have not seen "Jack the Reaper"... well, don't. It's bad. Reeeeeal bad. For those who have, you'll understand. Basically what I am saying is this movie is that bad that I would watch old mate Jack again over sitting through any more than the 10 minutes of this shite.Tim Curry owns Frank and seeing him all disheveled tucked away in that chair in this film made me weep! The acting is overdone, the gritty dirty rawness of the original film is completely lost and the magic was missing. Also, why is there a portrait of Beyonce hanging on the back wall of the main hall?I have been a Rocky fan since I was a young girl and loved the film along with the many live productions I have been lucky to see but this was just awful. It has left a bitter taste in my mouth!
I don't understand the less favorable ratings of this movie. This movie was a great remake. It was thrilling to see a new take on this story. The method of incorporating audience participation on a made-for-TV-movie was genius. Perhaps some people thought it blasphemous to redo this movie? Dunno. But I'd suggest any RHPS fan give this movie a try.
Not worth watching, may as well stick to the original movie. It's a shame that singers who can act weren't cast. I gave it 2 stars for them getting Tim Curry to be a part of this piece of garbage even though it looked like he didn't even want to be there, and 1 star for the opening number which I really liked. It was all downhill from there.
