Just perfect...
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Quite good werewolf movie, without those ugly and tacky transformations a la "An American Werewolf in London" and "The Howling". This time the writers added a different approach to the legend of the wolf men and women, providing a fine line in their half human-half animal essence that determines their behavior, giving them dignity and royal lineage, and proposing a new era of peace and less violence in their interaction with humans. The usual annoying elements that you find in commercial films are also here: editing striving for effect, too much music and a romantic musical video as some sort of plot point, when the young leading characters (a female "loup garou" and a young man) make public their attraction. But this is not the typical product providing cheap thrills. It is a fine genre motion picture, with good performances by Olivier Martínez and the young cast.
as usual books to movies always screw up somewhere, so not surprised they royally ruined one of my favorite young adult books.the only thing it had going for it was the use of actual wolves instead of that lame ugly beast form that most wares in movie possess.the same can be said for Van Helsing and twilight, they got the wolves right!if you haven't read the book, the movie is entertaining and enjoyable I much preferred Aiden in the movie compared to the book.but of course books are always better than movies but you can't have everything!
To be honest, I am kind of sick of bloody and gory stories about vampires or werewolf. In this movie these creatures are describe differently. No to much special effect. Simple, good & nice movie... with a good story. To be honest, I am kind of sick of bloody and gory stories about vampires or werewolf. In this movie these creatures are describe differently. This movie sucked. I read the book and loved it so watching this was really sad. It totally strays from the original plot line. The book is set in the US and the characters are totally different. They are all younger in the book than in the movie,Vivian doesn't live with her aunt, Aiden is supposed to be a hippie and Gabriel is the badass but not the bad guy. Most annoying is the ending of the movie because Vivian kills Gabriel and runs away with Adien, but in the book she ends up with Gabriel and the pack. Even though I mainly hated the movie because of its changes to the book I also didn't like the movie itself. It just seemed dated and old, I didn't think it was filmed in 2007. Also, the actors that were cast didn't fit to me. Overall, how it was all put together sucked.
