When the farmer's away, all the animals play, and sing, and dance. Eventually, though, someone has to step in and run things, a responsibility that ends up going to Otis, a carefree cow.

Excellent, Without a doubt!!
Did you people see the same film I saw?
Absolutely the worst movie.
Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
Barnyard film by nickelodeon, starring Kevin James as a cow whobrings funny comedic jokes as well as fight off a coyote army. OK OK I know what your saying, why are you reviewing this movie if so many think it's horrible. I do want to tell you all the truth, I think this movie is good, reason why is because it brings a good amount of nostalgia and lots of funny lines I remembered to this day. the movie has a good plot going for it, there are a couple of things wrong with the film, like the ending is sort of rushed and there is a ton of product placements. There is still a bunch of thing that are good, like the jokes in the movie and the characters, there are just too many to count. I saw the movie when it premiere and I was young at the time, from what I heard everyone said this movie will scare kids. I don't really understand that, because when I saw it I wasn't scared one bit. Maybe it was just one of those lying excuses to make the film look bad. I recently watched the film and it still holds up, if your looking for an obscure film that actually has a lot of funny jokes than this movie is for you. If your one of those haters, that didn't like it the first time, then check it out again and maybe you'll change your mind.
Male cows?Where did this come from? What are these creatures? Is any of the writers have studied basic biology? Are there any reviewer of the storyboard? Have the drawers ever seen a cow and a bull? This movie is not safe for children. The story is dumb. Animals are like balloons.Giving 1 for this movie is overrating. I can't find the words how to describe the awfulness of this...It's a shame for all the creators that they have participated in this movie...
First of all, I am truly amazed at the amount of negative reviews for this feature!! There are many bad movies in the world but this just isn't one of them! It may not be up there with the likes of Pixar (Which a lot of people seem to be comparing this to) but then again....What is? Pixar have raised the bar incredibly high! Barnyard is not trying to be a Pixar feature, it reminds me more of some of the silly(Tongue in cheek)cartoons that you might expect to see on Nickleodeon (Which is not really a surprise considering they made it) for example: i'm sure if you have read any of the other reviews for Barnyard on "IMDB" you will have noticed people mentioning how disgusted they were over the fact: ...Wait for it.........The Male voiced cows...HAVE UDDERS!! (Oh my daze the horror how dare a cartoon not have anatomically correct livestock!!) I just could not believe what a big deal everyone is making of it.....seriously......what?....its just a bit of Daft Fun(It got a laugh from me cos they actually look quite comical)... , Don't get me wrong though its not all daftness there are some more serious elements to it (Characters dies from a coyote attack and has funeral..........also.....cows get loaded on milk(Drunk on milk??but thats not scientifically accurate how dare they)go drunk driving to a human kids house to play a prank on him)....but this leads me to my other point......I noticed a lot of people complaining that they regretted taking their young child to see this film because of the above issues....now i cant speak for the US but in the UK Barnyard has got a PG Rating, which to me reflects that there are bits in the film that may not be suitable for young children, So.....Y'know....fair enough!I have to say "Barnyard", is a good movie, its a bit of daft fun thats not aimed at young children and is not trying to be the "Perfect for all the family - Pixar movie" The more you think that - the more you will enjoy "Barnyard".
There are stupid movies I have enjoyed, but this one is beyond stupid. It's a heaping pile of cowpat.Barnyard: The Original Party Animals is one stupid movie I didn't enjoy. It has familiar plots, very cheap animation, no actual plot, a few laughs and one very disturbing thing - male cows. With udders. What was Steve Oedekerk thinking when he chose the female cow design for the males? Udders are a cows boobs! Imagine there being a movie where women had the heads, personalities and voices of men...Anyway, the movie is about a hermaphrodite cow named Otis who acts like an ordinary cow when the humans see him. The other hermaphrodite cows and farm animals do the same. But when the humans are away, the animals will play. All goes well until Otis'... uhhh... Dad, named Ben, is killed by coyotes. This makes the story a stupid farm version of The Lion King, only with a lot of differences. After the funeral, Otis is elected to become The Farm Animal King, so they don't give a cow about the death and have a party in the barn. One night, Otis and his friends break the law for a while by getting their own back on a cow tipper. They also scare the heck out of the tipper by proving they can stand on two legs and talk. (Toy Story, anyone?) They have a lot of fun fooling cops and stuff until the coyotes return, so it's up to Otis and his animal friends to stop them! The fact that this movie has male cows is just disturbing and stupid. Sure it's a cartoon, but it's too disturbing for one! Ever seen a man breast-feeding a baby? Only in Family Guy. This film also has a freakin' bull in it! Shouldn't they have chosen that kind of bovine? But this is not the first time it's happened. It's happened in a a few British adverts, as well as some of the Ren & Stimpy episodes produced by Games. My final word - tiny people from another world who can control an android with a very human appearance has been alright for me, and so has chimpanzees rescuing a (almost) harmless and colourful alien planet and giant tomatoes killing people in God knows which way, but this film is a huge exception. And I can't believe they made the film into a TV series! I haven't watched it, nor do I plan to. All because this movie sucked udders.
