Great Film overall
Don't listen to the negative reviews
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
What really spoils this film are some (or all) characters that are weird, ugly men and children, his film's protagonist is a skinny and Wolf animated beast, I also don't really like the way he has child, who saves the whole picture is his mate, the movie didn't give me interest for the most part, got bored for a while seeing strange animations and children , only the end I liked it,gave me a certain emotion, but it does not save the whole movie, I didn't think the film very interesting, is optional only for children 10 years down, nor do I think to see the proceedings as in pictures, I can see the animations have worsened and on top of that they changed the main characters by their puppies, leaving the film even more childish , Alpha and Omega was a deception has altered your intentions for me
As anyone around me can tell you, I love wolves (hence my name, Angel Wolf) and so when I heard about this movie coming out, I was dieing to go see it. It's like a Romeo and Juliet story of two lovers separated by class. One is from a high class and the other is of the lower class but each one has there strengths.I fell in love with pretty much all the characters from the charismatic Kate to the very shy character Lilly. I couldn't stop thinking about how Lilly reminds me of me a bit. She's quiet mostly and hides in the shadows like myself. Even though I'm loud online with my opinion, if you see me in real life, I'm quiet and in the background of a lot of parties. I'm really just a wallflower when it comes right down to it. Her character really spoke to me for the small time it was up on screen. I'm not so fond of Kate and Lily's mom much. She just seems like a rather quiet, yet harsh character who controls the pack threw her husband. Her husband might not actually do all that she says, but she has a very harsh concept of justice. There are times she has a right to say what she says but then other times it just feels like they pushed her character to an extreme. The animation is rather beautiful, everything pretty much working together. Some textures seem slightly more detailed then they should be but that's all a matter of taste since it doesn't mess up the over all picture. Rock textures are really hard to get right anyway without making them overly bumpy. The rest seem really nice with a larger look at the fur textures. I love how they made the fur into hair up on top of their heads and styled it depending on what personality the character had. For example, Lilly is a very shy girl and so her hair cut is over her eyes a bit and makes her look rather quite while her sister Kate has a rough cut hair that makes her more like a tomboy type with a girly side. Humphrey is a rather easy going personality so his haircut is sort of a messy thrown together look while Garth is more of trying to be smooth jock type so he has a bit of a curl in his face while the rest is slicked back. It makes it a bit easy to pick out who the characters are when the fur is so similar. The voices are really nice, well, except for Garth's howl that sounds like a dieing animal. But that's really what they were going for from what I got. The spin they did on all the howls reminded me a little of what they did in 'Happy Feet' since one of the characters couldn't make the right sound as well and how all the others had there own style of howling like singing. If you have ever listened to a wolf howl, you will understand what I mean when I say that a wolf has many different emotions they can convey as they howl. If there is a lone wolf howling, his howl may sound a bit sad compared to if he is howling with a group. Same for if it loses someone special against finding the mate he has been looking for. They use their howl to show all these and more so I wish we had even more of the howling aspect. He comes out alright in the end but its how he did that that made me like his story. Though the dialog was a bit rough in some aspects, the over-lining meaning was as clear as day making it so much better.
"Alpha and Omega" is not a bad animated movie, nor it is particularly outstanding. This is an animated that is well-suited for children and youngsters, while it is not really all that appealing to an adult audience, unlike many other animated movies on the market. The story in "Alpha and Omega" is about two tribes of wolves struggling for food in the same valley. In an order to unite the wolf tribes, an alpha member from both tribes is to marry. Things go awry and the omega male wolf Humphrey (voiced by Justin Long) and alpha female wolf Kate (voiced by Hayden Panettiere) end up being relocated to Idaho by humans, and have to race across wilderness and human territory to get back to their home before struggle breaks out between the two tribes.Initially, the story is alright, although it seems to be minded for a younger audience, as there is a heap of comedy and a very non-adult theme and feeling throughout the entire feature. As such, I am not saying it bad, far from it, just keep in mind that as an adult "Alpha and Omega" doesn't offer all that much. And there is something for every young viewer to be had in "Alpha and Omega"; there is comedy, action, drama, romance, bravery, and even singing and dancing. The animation in "Alpha and Omega" was nice, though not fully up to par with something seen in other animated movies. But still, it worked out nicely enough, and there were some good details and great scenes. Lots of variation in the wolves."Alpha and Omega" has quite a good ensemble of actors and actresses to do the voice acting, and that really paid off in favor of the movie.A fun and exciting animated movie for the younger audience, and a movie that I assume could be watched again and again by this particular audience. As an adult, having seen this once now, I find it highly unlikely that I will be watching it a second time around, as there are more impressive animated movies available.
OK, I first heard of this movie, at a Wolf website. They said a new animated movie was coming out and it has, A LOT OF WOLVES IN IT. me being the, "WOLF LOVER" I HAD to check it out. I bought it at wal-mart for 10$ then I watched it. I stopped it 38 minutes in. I'm sorry, I just wasn't getting into it. Then, Like 4 months later, I watch it again. After seeing it a second time I liked (and appreciated) It a LOT more. so now, Here's my Negatives and Postitives. Negatives: Lots of Cliché moments. The other characters, the goose, and the duck, (and any animal, besides the wolves) Were Unnecessary to the plot. Positives: The wolves look fantastic. Animation is Good, Sound track is lively and nice. Overall: The movie is Good. Just try to not groan at the ending, or the "Moonlight Howl" Part. 8/10.
