Sorry, this movie sucks
The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
Maddy (Kristen Stewart) loves to climb. Her best friends are tech nerd Austin (Corbin Bleu) and go-cart mechanic Gus (Max Thieriot). Her father Tom Phillips (Sam Robards) suffers a paralysis from an old climbing injury that requires $250k for treatment. Her mother Molly (Jennifer Beals) works at the bank but the bank president Donald Brisbane refuses to lend her the money. Maddy decides to rob the bank with the help of her young friends despite the fact that her mother is the security chief. The kids are all photogenic and they are good young actors. However there is nothing actually funny. It's too stupid to be real and too real to be fun. There isn't any joy in this kids movie. They even try a love triangle for them. It just doesn't work.
This is a good movie of Kristen S. but i'll say this movie is OK or not the best. I used to watch this often, but not anymore. This is a good movie for younger people/kids. I'll appreciate this title. This is a good suggestion if kids or younger adult like crime/action movie that involves young people. ANYWAY, this is a OK movie, but you should watch it. It is not the best or the worst, this is just my opinion. Spoiler ALERT: By the way, this is a Disney movie about 3 friends who group up to rob money for Abby's (Not sure if it is the correct name) who Kristen S. is playing as, father. He have serious injuries or disease and the family need money to heal him. At the end, the cops catched the group of kids, so the kids collects money from where they work (race kart place or something).
All of the actors and actresses were absolutely amazing! All of the teen actors produced adult quality, even Max Thieriot, even though this was his first movie! I love how they balanced out all of the different types of movies this was, to make it all just roll together. I have watched this movie numerous times, and yet I still absolutely adore it! The emotional scenes are just fantastic, and when i saw this in theaters I was just amazed at how good all of the acting was done. It has some parts that could really happen, and some that would never happen, but that is normally just what movies are usually lacking. I would most definitely recommend this movie to practically anybody, and I am almost absolutely sure that they would love it.
This film, at the start, was interesting enough. It's very funny, to say the least - the humor was in the same mold as Home Alone. It was filled with excitement, thrilling chases, and tense moments. The film's premise about the kids robbing the bank to save Maddy's dad was, to say the least, disappointing. It had it's upsides, but the filmmakers seemed to forget the fact that this movie is all about something illegal and wrong, robbing a bank, and add to that the fact that Maddy lies to her friends to convince them to help her.Throughout the entire film I was waiting for a redeeming quality; for them to get punished somehow, such as always happened in Shakespeare's plays. In his plays, such as Macbeth, Macbeth kills the king and ends up dying later on as a consequence for murder. There were several times in the film where it made you think they would get caught, but they got away with it and, at the end, just got a slap on the hand. Overall, the film was funny and exciting, but the moral themes just weren't right. It's movies like this that make you appreciate Shakespeare so much more.
