A young man, whose only possession is a motorcycle, spends his time riding around the city looking for empty apartments. After finding one, he hangs out for a while, fixing himself something to eat, washing laundry or making small repairs in return. He always tries to leave before the owners get back but in one ostensibly empty mansion he meets the abused wife of a rich man and she escapes with him.

Highly Overrated But Still Good
For all the hype it got I was expecting a lot more!
best movie i've ever seen.
The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Tae-suk tapes fake fliers inside apartment buildings and along city blocks. Several hours pass and the house or apartment that leaves the flier untouched, he breaks into them. One day by accident, he breaks into a house with a battered wife, Sun-hwa, inside. Basically, a romance ensues between these two quiet soulmates.Melancholy and disturbing, this film transcends into a simple, dream-like romance full of atmosphere and beauty. It's difficult to explain why this film is beautiful; for me, the characters transcend their despair and find an improbable solution to loving each other. Minimalistic and mysterious, the director Kim Ki-Duk creates a film that leaves profound questions up to the viewer.Mostly, this film uses minimal dialogue which feels slightly stilted and gimmicky. Although the lack of dialogue is a gimmick, "3-Iron" is a profoundly rewarding experience.
A young man has a habit of breaking into other people's home while they're away on vacations, business trips and things like that. He eats their food, watches their TV, wears their clothes, washes their laundry as a thank you. All that jazz. But one day he miscalculates and comes across a young woman, who has been abandoned to their home by an abusive husband. A silent romance ignites between them and when he flees for the next home, she follows. The director Kim Ki-duk's strong touch can be felt throughout the film. It was a bold move to make this almost a silent film. The main character never speaks and even the main female character only say a few words. But it's still a sweet, if unconventional love story. Even perhaps even sweeter because of the silence. They have to learn to trust one another through gestures and actions, and we have to learn to love them through that as well.If I had to nitpick, I'd say that the final third is not quite as strong as the rest of the film. It's still good, but something about it doesn't jive quite as well. Perhaps because it's the part where she finally speaks and I was kind of hoping that they'd both remain silent to the end.Nevertheless, it's a fascinating, well-made film with an interesting premise and a really good executions. Definitely one of my favourites from Ki-duk.
I think this is undoubtedly my favorite kim ki duks film. Its a masterpiece. Now leaving aside all the technical aspects. It has a very ingenuous and a never before seen plot.Well i definitely have not seen it before..That my friends, should be reason enough for you to spend your time and money watching this film.I want to write this review without giving away too much but with this film it seems like writing a novel.A loner, an abused wife and a wealthy provocative husband comes an astonishing tale of epic proportions.I rate this film 8.5/10...A MUST WATCH...kim ki duks done it again with his silent lead role.
The lonely and silent rider Tae-suk (Hee Jae) breaks in empty houses and lives a normal life while the owners are traveling. He does not steal anything and moves from house to house without any loss other than food, and he cleans the houses, provides small repairs or washes some clothes to retribute the hospitality. When he enters in the house of Sun-hwa (Seung-yeon Lee), he does not see the woman that is wounded in her room after being beaten up on by her abusive husband Min-gyu Lee (Hyuk-ho Kwon). Tae-suk helps the hurt woman and when Min-gyu returns, he hits the husband with golf balls and Sun-hwa leaves her husband with Tae-suk in his motorcycle. When they break in the house of an old man, they find that the man is dead and Tae-suk provides funeral service for him. However, his son returns and Tae-suk and Sun-hwa are arrested by two abusive police detectives. He is sent to prison and Sun-hwa is forced to return home. But she never forgets him."Bin-jip" is a subtle film about a lonely drifter and an abused wife that finds love, empathy and human warmth with him. The story is open to interpretation and here is mine (it is a spoiler – therefore if you have not watched the film yet, do not read):Tae-suk is murdered by the prison guards when he leaves his cell, and Min-gyu Lee receives a phone call from the police telling that the youngster had been released as a sort of justification for his disappearance. Sun-hwa lives with the "ghost" of the free-spirited Tae-suk as a way to help her to survive to his marriage life.Maybe I am too simplistic, but that is the way that I have understood this pleasant film. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "Casa Vazia" ("Empty House")
