Simply A Masterpiece
Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
Seth Rogan, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anthony Mackie and Michael Shannon star in this 2015 comedy. This takes place in New York where we meet 3 pals, Isaac (Rogan), Ethan (Levitt) and Chris (Mackie) who are about to have one last tradition together on Christmas Eve. Ethan finds 3 tickets to a party and along the way they encounter a mysterious man, Mr. Green (Shannon) who puts their lives in a magical yet whacky perspective. James Franco, Miley Cyrus and Tracy Morgan also appear. This is a good comedy with humorous and bizarre moments with a great cast. I recommend this.
A couple of laughs, but the whole Christmas theme mashed up with a raunchy drug movie just didn't mesh all that well and came across as forced. The attempts at pathos were hackneyed and broad and the callbacks to much better holiday movies just hammered the point home that this is not destined to be a classic, or even remembered. The dick pic gag was great though.
Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Isaac (Seth Rogen) and Chris (Anthony Mackie) have been friends since childhood, and for a decade, their yearly Christmas Eve reunion has been an annual night of debauchery and hilarity. Now that they're entering adulthood, the tradition is coming to an end, and to make it as memorable as possible, they set out to find the Nutcracka Ball - the Holy Grail of Christmas parties. The Night Before is a film that i had a hard time to connect with and trust me i know that Seth Rogen is not an amazing actor but i've seen some of his movies and they were at least funny and watchable this one tho it wasn't and i feel bad about Joseph Gordon Levitt because at that year he starred in the film The Walk and it was a fantastic film and then he starred in this, really? Even Anthony Mackie in this movie you know the Falcon from Winter Soldier and Civil War? Yeah he is in this film too and there's a bunch of other actors who have cameos like James Franco (who figured), Tracy Morgan and even Miley Cyrus but to be honest i didn't know that any of this actors were in this film because i lost my interest in like 15 minutes and i skipped the whole thing because the movie was simply boring and dumb.
Firstly, don't expect to much story line. now the acting was so funny i cleared my head of all of the days distractions and faults. It took me places that were very familiar and although there was extreme language, it was well positioned. I could and will watch again. I give it higher score based on sheer get away from yourself entertainment. Better watched near Christmas. I think there is an unrated, or uncensored version, as that could be the only possible reason this film has such a below average rating. There was plenty original scenes adapted for the humour of today, yes it could have gone further but you can only laugh so much within a film, and adding more comedy would have given me sore throat
