This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.

Although this film demonstrates highly inappropriate scenes and moments which aren't suitable for people under 12, it really does show the consequences of real life and choices. I live in London and this film is extremely accurate with the actions of young people nowadays in London, especially the fact those kids use drugs and give blowjobs to get drugs which is extremely unacceptable. Ignore the low rating because this film has it all it takes to portray londoners nowadays. Noel Clarke is just the best at writing a story about this, especially his acting. To me, he portrays his character smartly and accurately. Aml Ameen's character is one of the best, it's just sad to see him die at the end but that shows the consequences if you are part of trouble these days. The majority of the characters are 15-16 years old, it's just unacceptable to see them do inappropriate choices that can damage their body.. They have a choice whether to have a better future or to just die alone and be addicted to drugs. I just love this film truly, it portrays real life in London and shows that we teenagers need to make better choices than those characters.Kidulthood, the film that reflects real life in a city.

I hovered over this film for months back when it was released. I am so glad that I watched it. We had all the 'Hood' films in the 90's, but this stuff is so much more gritty. I think British films are so much more gritty anyway in their entirety. There is no Hollywood plastic rubbish here. Having lived in London, I can say that this film does portray areas that are in poverty and despair. Each one of the actors play their roles beautifully. I have now actively looked for other similar films to watch. For people who think it's far fetched. Read the news,look around, look at crime statistics and the ages of criminals these days. My only gripe is the 'black' accents used by white people. This happens in real life also and annoys me no end. That's the only part I find embarrassing to watch. Noel Clarke is a gifted actor/director, in fact there are several British young actors that are under appreciated, Jaime Winstone, Plan B etc... If you want a look into inner city life in the UK, look no further. Hardcore EastEnders with better acting. Then when you've gotten over that, whack Adulthood on!

OK I'm not British, and I may not understand European works of art, but what the hell was this? I saw this on a related video search in YouTube. I was like, "I watch a lot of American hood films, let me see what British chavs do". I feel like I'm wasting my time reviewing this, which I am.I had a headache watching this film. Yet I continued watching it hopefully thinking somehow that the dialogue would calm down, but it didn't. Every other line was 'Whanjasldfhn hsdnaksn, blah!" or "Awghjugnjjv, blah?'.Are kids in England that angry? For no reason? I guess I would be angry too if I lived in a nice house under a generous welfare system and the NHS.And I have to hand it off to the white kid. He is seriously the most annoying character ever made. Yeah, Jar Jar Binks and Short Round have competition.If this was supposed to be an English Boyz N The Hood, it isn't. If it's supposed to be an angry work of art, it's not.

this is a great movie and powerfully captures every aspect on the harsh territory of the area and people that are changed by it i know this was based in London but it happens everywhere and just seems to expand as years go past kids change though experience that are normally from abuse or bullying which make them pretty much the same and so on it just how it is i grew up in the western part of Sydney (western suburbs) and it was way worse there don't wanna go into the details but great movie a much watch..... ............ ......... .................... ........ ........ ................. ........... ............... ............................................. ....................... .............................................. ...................... ............................................. ............ ............. ...........................................
