I love this movie so much
There are better movies of two hours length. I loved the actress'performance.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Boring, boring, boring, predictable, boring, and then, literally down to the mask and the kid hiding in the walls because the mother is ashamed of it, a complete copycat ending of 'The Boy', another one of the biggest failures in the history of horror movies. I'm surprised there's no lawsuit happening from one crappy writer to another. Who knows. Maybe there is. I bet that deposition would be more entertaining than this was. Skip it.
"Bethany" was one of those slow burns. It was like a fine pot-roast that's was marinated for days then placed into a crock-pot and cooked on low for thirteen hours. Well worth the payoff. This is by far the best film I have seen from James Cullen Bressack. Bressack and Zack Ward did an amazing job with the buildup in this hauntingly tragic tale. Stefanie Estes as Claire was simply amazing and Anna Harr just broke my heart in her performance. I was not expecting the film to tug on my heart strings the way it did. Totally unexpected. Totally awesome. I cannot express enough how this movie is a must-see for any true horror fan. I have watched my share of horror movies and I am telling you, this is the real deal. Solid four out of five stars. I can't wait for the next project from these guys!
Bethany is a horror movie about a couple that move into the childhood house of the wife where strange things start to happen. The wife starts becoming unhinged so what forces are at work? Bethany has decent acting and the ending explains the events throughout the film adequately. The pacing of the movie is okay but there are some boring segments in the movie. Bethany is a decent time but I would recommend watching this on DVD or free to air TV. It is better than some other indie horror films. My score 5/10.Jackal
I read the reviews for this movie and i thought i was in for a treat, how wrong i was. Stefanie Estes the lead actress, who played the role of Claire give a mind-numbing performance, i realize she was portraying a troubled character, she was brought up by an abusive mother and returned to the house of her childhood after her mother died only to be plagued by strange occurrences. The relationship between her and her husband played by Zack Ward just didn't gel, i did not feel any romantic motions between them. The story of the twin haunting the living sibling has been done before and a lot better than this movie, there is a few creepy moments but overall i would not recommend this movie
