A narcissistic TV weatherman, along with his attractive-but-distant producer, and his mawkish cameraman, is sent to report on Groundhog Day in the small town of Punxsutawney, where he finds himself repeating the same day over and over.

Wonderful character development!
Simply Perfect
I wanted to but couldn't!
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
A weatherman finds himself inexplicably living the same day over and over again. Groundhog Day has a very interesting story but unfortunately with Bill Murray in it it's just not as good as it could have been and sure i like Murray in some movies like Ghostbusters for example but most of the time his mouth talks more than it should and this movie suffers from that. If Harold Ramis had used someone like let's say? Michael Keaton who he worked with him later on Multiplicity (1996) the movie would have been so but so much better and even more dramatic. (5/10)
Groundhog day proves you don't need to rely on CGI explosions, fart gags or graphic sex to make an entertaining, classic movie. It's full of humanity and heart and genuinely winning performances and that's why it's so loved after all these years. I wish people would still fund midlevel movies like this!!!
Its been over 25 years and some change since I seen this masterpiece of a movie I cant believe it. So many movies have copied this repeat of 1 day but nothing like the original. I love the movies of the 80's and 90's the supporting actors were just as good as the Lead actors! Or just excellent casting directors!
One of the most layered, genuinely feel-good and emotionally powerful comedies of all time, this fantastic film belongs in any conversation that considers the classics. 'Groundhog Day (1993)' is a truly phenomenal piece of film-making by all accounts, a picture which is at once funny, endearing, touching, saddening, inspiring, enlightening, thought-provoking and an all-around amazing experience that's ironically endlessly re-watchable. There's a whole following surrounding this film and it's Buddhistic approach to spiritualism and self-improvement, which just goes to show how much the filmmakers were able to intelligently 'milk' this 'what-if' idea for all it was worth in an incredibly artistically rich way that's as inspired as it is entertaining or hilarious, and it is indeed both, something that raises this above almost all others in the genre and even medium. Everyone should watch this one, over and over again. 8/10
