Don't Believe the Hype
Did you people see the same film I saw?
Admirable film.
Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Good Hindi movie is rare. It's one of the rare ones. Actually in bollywood where movies are made, such that after watching those you would feel you just wasted your 2.5 hours, if u are a real good movie lover. From that point of view it's a great movie. It's not typical bollywood movie which are nothing movie. Recently bollywood actually making some good bilographical movies. Though in this movie too like them, there are a little (not much to bother) bollywoody things like unnecessarily focusing & driving plot by emmotion anyway but this movie is worth watching specially such great acting by nawazuddin siddique..
The bad part first: the direction of the movie, direction of photography casting (except Siddiqui), dialogs, acting (except siddiqui) are a black hole. Highly mediocre stuff. Music is inserted like being done on gunpoint. The whole project has been executed i a shoddy manner. I do not expect this from a team led by someone like Ketan Mehta. No cinematic excellence as such. The Good part now: Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a fine actor and he did pull the movie on his shoulders completely. Even after the best efforts of the director to spoil the movie, Siddiqui does not let Ketan take away the charm of the legend with him. Siddiqui remains the only good part of the movie. Way to go for this chap. he should think ten times before working for KEtan MEhta again. The legend lives on: One does not love the legend for this movie, one can just watch the movie since it is based on the legend. The movie did injustice to the legend and the legend of course set the base of this and maybe several documentaries like these. So in case one is interested in knowing the legend, better catch a good documentary about him rather than wasting time on this movie full of mediocre and amateur stuff. The rating: Of course, we Indians just like Americans, are an emotional lot. We, just like Americans, like to celebrate our mediocrity loudly. That's why the high ratings.
the movie is magnificent . no doubt the movie has the best direction , the director work is amazing of course acting was good too. but what i like the most was the main character acting and the director work . the set and the cast was so brilliant i really felt that i am in 1960 of India. that is really amazing .summary:- the man spent his half of life in the passion of love of his life devoted to her wife.the movie pace is bit low at the start but it seems necessary to built character development . the another main thing is they show the beauty in very good manner .this is very good and must watch movie to get inspired .
I just loved Nawazuddin Siddiqui before, but this film here is the ultimate. His expressions of happiness, love, despair, frustration, anger, hopelessness and all of them at one go, what not? it was a wholesome treat!!I was flabbergasted by his acting prowess where he confronts his "Phaguniya" (the girl who he just happens to meet for the first time and falls for her) and comes to know that she is in fact his wife (Child marriage). His acting that moment lasting less than 30 seconds is something that will be etched in your minds forever. Every frame, every scene for that matter every inch of the filmmaking can be referred for the future generations that yearn to make a career in films! The man wielding the megaphone, needless to say has never and not even this time, let any moment go slack. The cinematography is eye-appeasing and superb. There was never a dull moment.Even if it does not win an Oscar, I don't have any qualms, because in my opinion it has already won one for the country!!Just go for it!
