One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

There is a guy who don't really wants to be a solider. He gets sick and the movie ends. This was one of the most boring movies that i've ever watched. And yes I've played the game. i cant see how this could have 7.2 in ratings right know. 4 or 5 times I wanted to stop the movie. The story really sucks, and the movie is so unbelievable slow. I can't believe that I watched the hole one. Nothing is happening, there's a war but you almost never See anything about the war? And the love between these 2 guys, why even have it there? Come on! I would never recommend this movie to anyone. Save your time and look at another movie instead.

I could watch the movie, but someone who is not a player of the game... I don't want to see children playing at anything, let alone soldiers. The actors are too young, maybe 18 at best, or least they appear to be. The demographic seems to be steered to teenagers and high school students, and in that respect I find the movie just fine. Anyone older than 20 should reconsider their movie choice however. This is not a stand alone movie, I'm not sure if it was ever intended for that purpose. If you are young and a fan of the games then I'm sure you will enjoy this. If you happen to be over 20, browsing Netflix for a random action movie, pass. Decent CGI, not horrific, just very specific demographic.

First of all, I have virtually no experience playing the Halo games, and thus only a very casual acquaintance with their universe and story line. I like science fiction, though, and was interested in something with action, so I gave Halo 4 a spin, not expecting too terribly much. As at least one other reviewer has written, ALL CAPS WOW!This film is simply astounding in the quality of its production values, cast, writing, cinematography and musical score. I am completely blow away. I have not seen a science fiction/action film this arresting in a long time. Just the visual aspect of it is incredibly beautiful. From what I understand -- I could be wrong -- this was not released in theaters, but I would absolutely love to see something like this on a big screen.Does it start out slowly? I suppose so, but I am a big fan of taking time to develop characters, establish themes and set the stage. Once the action hits, it is intense, and that is only helped by the build up to it. I was on the edge of my seat, lost track of time, and kept thinking to myself, How can this be so good? A little bit of Starship Troopers without the satire/gore, a little bit of Aliens w/out the 80s rough edges, a little bit of Ender's Game with a more hands-on approach, but with a specific modern style all its own. Halo 4 may be just an origin story on a small scale, but what a ride! Highly recommended if you enjoy being transported and thrilled.
