A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

its a good romantic movie with very good story, cast was utmost perfect.a young boy falling in love of a very beautiful girl and chasing her through out his life, but its no where near to be called a adaption to the great novel by charles dickens THE GREAT EXPECTATIONS.that story in the novel had so much more than just a boy and a girl.the movie if considered to be adaption shows very different and incomplete and confusing version of it,maybe the theme is a little bit similar but the story is no way near similar but still its a very good movie considering the fact that its a bollywood movie.

Fitoor: More obsession less drama. Fitoor is one of the most awaited film of 2016 but after watching we feel disappointment. It is based on Charles Dickens Novel 'Great Expectations'. I thought that it was not correctly adapted from the novel but the team adapted by their own in different characters. Noor Nizami (played by Aditya Roy Kapoor) is an aspiring artist who lived near Dal Lake, in Kashmir falls in love with Firdaus (played by Katrina Kaif), an adopted daughter of wealthy woman in a town Begum Hazrat (played by Tabu). Director Abhishek Kapoor whose recent films were KAI PO CHE! and ROCK ON!! This film was below expectations. He worked very hard to make this film. The casting of this film was poor but the actors put their hardest effort in acting. Tabu's work was quite appreciable as she did a different role in this film. Cinematographer ANAY GOSWAMI captured excellent scenes and the view of locations of the film (Kashmir,Delhi and London). I praise him for his excellent work in the film. Music Director Amit Trivedi, one of my favorite musicians did a tremendous work by making songs like "Yeh Fitoor Mera",Pashmina, etc.. Lyricist Swanand Kirkire also wrote nice songs. The film was slow and hardly any comical scenes. The plot of the film was quite boring. It will force you to sleep in the film but the strength of the film(music) will keep you awake. The films starts from Kashmir and slowly till London and again in Kashmir. This passage of time was bore and slow. Katrina's new look in the film was boring. The dialog and scenes like "If you ask milk we will give you pudding and if you ask Kashmir we will thrash you." etc... Even the plot says that Firdaus was to marry Bilal and when this thing broke out in Noor's mind, he focused on his work but got frustrated after hearing this. The twist in the film was not appreciable and it was of no use. This film also tells you about anger, betrayal, love, passion and obsession. This film disappointed me as I was expecting a better twist in the film. Only I loved music and cinematography. After watching this film, I thought that Charles Dickens can't write such boring stories and also felt adaptation was not done correctly. This film running time is 131 minutes but it felt like this movie was 3 hours movie as it was quite slow.

When a novel as renowned as Charles Dickens' Great Expectations is adapted for cinema, there's not much that can go wrong with the plot, right? After all, the original piece of work received worldwide critical acclaim, and is revered as a classic.Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor begs to differ. This is a pointless film, meandering along in no particular direction, stopping and starting until finally it stumbles to a rather boring halt. For the uninitiated, Fitoor tells the story of a poor orphan boy and his childhood love for a girl who is from a rich elite family. How their social status comes in the way of their romance forms the rest of the story. Oh, and somewhere there's a disjointed flashback as well.Aditya Roy Kapoor plays Noor (Pip) to Katrina Kaif's Firdaus (Estelle). Kapoor looks alright for the role, but his character is obsessive to the point of creepiness. It's hard to sympathize with Noor when he does the most stupid and desperate things in the name of love, shredding every bit of his self-respect.Kaif does what she does best: look pretty and not act.Abhishek Kapoor casts Tabu as Firdaus' mother, Begum Hazrat (Miss Havisham) and despite being burdened with a role where she hardly gets scenes to shine, she's a treat to watch. Her Urdu diction is impeccable and there's a striking resemblance to her portrayal of Ghazala from Haider. She rightfully gets top billing in the opening credits as well.If there's one thing Abhishek Kapoor did right, it was to make Kashmir the setting of this movie. The place is majestic, as evidenced by the beautiful shots cinematographer Anay Goswami has captured.Amit Trivedi's music stands out once again, like it always has, in a movie that doesn't deserve it. Pashmina is a gorgeously mounted song, setting the tone for the rest of the movie, only to amount to nothing.A lot was expected from Abhishek Kapoor after his refreshing Rock On!! and the fact that he made Chetan Bhagat's worst novel into a passably good film in Kai Po Che, but here he definitely falls short of the mark.Fitoor is a pointless adaptation, and a disjointed film. Not only does it add nothing to the original source material, but it can't even manage to do justice to Dickens' vision. As to whether you should watch Fitoor, ask no questions and you will be told no lies!

Better fail with originality than to succeed imitation. A brave attempt by the makers of this movie. Fitoor has a lot to offer to its viewers. It might be a little hard for people to understand this movie but but thats what "Fitoor" means.Once must have an inner "Fitoor" to understand the movie "Fitoor". The hard-work by characters Begum, Noor , Bilal and Firdauss in the movie is clearly visible.Classical locations,Exemplary work and designs. On one hand its a visual treat for Artists while on another it can just be an ordinary movie for others .The movie succeeded in representing the present day conditions of Kashmir with the novel on which the movie is based. Just loved it as a whole.
