The story of a contemporary Robinson Crusoe, stranded on a desolate beach without any comforts, who begins to question whether the comforts he once had were real or merely illusions. His quest for freedom takes him from hermitism to the acceptance of beauty, from consumerist oblivion to hunting for food to survive. An inverted environment that, in the end, doesn't seem so far from his true nature.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
