This is not a pure 8 out 8 stars for Consignment. The old school bell curve is in full effect. Hands down consignment has a banging soundtrack for a low budget urban piece. Its hot. Custom Made Recordings & Babygrande Records consignment track crushes. I've been a big fan of jackin4beats.com since it started. Music makes a movie. This movie had real street music. The story is old hash. A drug dealer wants to get out of the business. Nothing new. What was new was having a black east coast drug dealer, played by jackin4beats founder by Tim Beachum, having crazy panic attacks after moving to LA to deal with latino gangsters. What was banging was action, nudity, and real looking cast. Straight up a few people were clearly cast from the streets.

The problem with Consignment is not enough James Hurd playing villain Detroit Mike. I always give crime movies from unknown people a try, Never expecting much. Not this time. Detroit Mike is one BADASS character! Crazy eyes! He kills like a machine. He snuffs out a puerto rican drug dealer by using a pillow as a silencer. He kills a jamican drug dealer with a pool cue. He uses a buzz saw to cut up the body of his best friend and loyal crime partner. He rapes and kills a female drug dealer. He beats a rogue drug dealer to death then tosses him in a shallow grave like mulch. I rated this movie high because of James Hurd playing Detorit Mike. Consignment is a story that has been done to death, A criminal has a change of heart and plans on doing one more big deal to escape their life of crime. What made this one rise above most rubbish B movie crime movies was ACTION & NUDITY. I liked what writer/director Sid Kali did. It's clear he understands movies are for entertainment. Give people what they want. Is he as talented as Oliver Stone? NO! Is he talented as Spike Lee? NO! I'm sick of B movies that try to be artistic. Don't worry about that here. There is a part where a delicious looking stripper takes her clothes off for no apparent reason. Did it move the story? NO! Was it hot? YES!!!!

Consignment was what I would consider one of the better independent films. It is defiantly an independent film that I am proud to have as part of my collection. Here is my break down of the movie for those of you that even want to hear my two cents :-)Broken down on a scale from 1-10 (10 being the highest duh!)Visually - 10 Audio - 8 Acting - 6 (I would have given it an 8 but I couldn't stomach the wife Yolanda. How she got cast I'll never know!) Soundtrack - 10 Movie Trailer - 8... and that's my two cents... Take it or leave it!
