A Masterpiece!
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
An old man wanders in the middle of the dessert, carrying several boxes. When one of those boxes is missed, an element of catastrophe is released, leading to a completely unexpected ending. As simple as it sounds, this short manages to create an eerie atmosphere of solitude and bleakness, having, however, at the same time a macabre sense of tenderness and beauty. The animation of this short is excellent, having the puppets and incredible level of realism. The naturalistic aesthetic used in the characters fits perfectly well with the overall tone of the story, being easily comparable to the magnificent shorts done by Jan Svankmajer or the Brothers Quay.Imaginative and creepy, this short is a must- see.
