what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Nice entertainer.Its just like a normal Vijay movie,but it has a lot of twists and turns.Watch it for Director Vijay because his movies are always nice.This film if better than Vijay's previous films,like Vettaikaaran,Sura,those were utter flops.But this film is nice,but it can be a little boring at times,but it has good action,comedy,twists,and music.Watch it,but not with too much expectations.3 hours can be a entertainment without too much expectations.There should have been another heroine and not Amala Paul.The film could have been better though,with a better intro song(The other songs were nice),and with a little trimming done to the movie.My rating is 7/10:Good.

Vijay's previous movies were excellent and same in Thalaivaa. It's a complete entertainer where writing becomes a weapon and hits the right Target. No doubt that this movie too has something called Vijayism.The Performance by Vijay,Sathyaraj and Abhimanyu Singh is the best. Santhanam also gets great scope here. There is no doubt that A.L.Vijay has made a perfect movie which no one can even think of avoiding. The fights,performances, dialogues and story-screenplay all work efficiently. There are many good scenes, but I would not reveal them so as to maintain the thrill and suspense going on. The cinematography is good and Santhanam's comedy is relieving. There is no negative point in the entire movie except that it is a bit longer. But don't worry. The film is full of entertainment and you won't be bored. This film will surely not test your patience. Rather, it will make you feel happy that you have watched such a pleasant movie. The action is also excellent.On the whole,Thalaivaa is a perfect entertainer that will entertain everyone and win hearts all over. Go,watch it and experience the redefinition of Thalaivaa!Blockbuster entertainer!

Really i am proud to see some Tamil films are released in some theaters of France. Watched this movie with Tamil people of France. *****Overall this movie is watchable & mass entertainment*****. No double meaning and politics dialogs. Vijay's acting, fight & dance are appreciated. Director Vijay did his job well. Thalaivaa is a new generation movie by director Vijay. The first half of the movie is romantic and the second half is very thrilling. The script of this story is the best in Kollywood as the story is very natural. vijay's acting is superb and the fight scenes are perfect. Interval sequence is the best ever seen!!! santhanam rocks!!! The movie would have been more better if it's duration was 2hrs(by avoiding the lags)... after thuppakki, Thalaivaa becomes Vijay's next blockbuster. the only defect of the movie is the lagging scenes, each and every scene of the movie is dragged to maximum time for no reason. the plus points are the movie script, vijay's performance(fast dance,song,acting,fight,etc,etc),santhanam's best performance ever,interval sequence,climax,etc.
