Nurse Misaki (Ruri Shinato) was looking forward to seeing the Korean drama "Brother's Woman" set in Japan. Misaki, who falls in love with the main character, Choi Min-ho, is not as good as her unemployed husband, Kotaro (Yota Kawase). One day, when I learned that "Brother's Woman" was being filmed in the neighborhood, I stopped by the park on the stage and saw the figures of men and women hugging. I left the place thinking that it was a scene I saw somewhere, and went home to play "Brother's Woman". Then the scene is the scene of the park. A figure that looks exactly like Misaki is reflected in the background of the screen. It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
