One just got released from prison, the other just "accidentally" killed a prostitute, so what's a couple of down on their luck career criminals to do? Rob a bank and head to Brazil of course! All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

i got it thinking it was "the bank job" from 2008....i got half way through before i couldn't take anymore and went outside to do yardwork - (even in the Florida summer yardwork turned out to be much more entertaining!) I thought perhaps it was the "be kind, rewind" version, taped on hand held camcorders with no time for second takes. the acting is HORRIBLE, the writing is WAY WORSE and the director should be ashamed of himself for letting this film be released.the most memorable scene was the bank robbery itself, with the witness girl talking to her brother on the phone (cut scene, flip to brother in car, cut back to girl, uh oh, whats going to happen, another horrible line??). Following the robbers i thought something cool would happen. the whole scene was reminiscent of a short film my friends did in middle school for class (although their film was at least fun to watch).complete waste of time, and judging from the other comments I'm glad i turned it off before wasting any more.

this was a complete waste of time and i assume someones money. the plot wanders around like a blind dog with too many fire-hydrants and i am sure i have seen the script written on a mens restroom stall at the bus-station The action (?) and effects are worse then a sci-fi original movie. About the only bright spot in this travesty was the hooker who they kill off in less then five minutes. not sure if the cops were supposed to be funny or if that was just a couple drama 101 drop-outs they hired cheap. not good even in a bad way. no sexy girls (well other then the few seconds of the hooker...call me honey i can get you better work) , extreme boredom broken only by a car chase that ranks up there with watching the toddlers on the bumper-car ride at the carnival. good cover art and a couple of guys who can probably do a lot better with a real production is about all thats left in pandora's box.

Amazingly bad that is. I am a movie fanatic in so far as I will watch any movie I have not seen, regardless of genre, actors, directors, age or any other factors. I just love movies. Until now, I would say I had never seen a truly miserable movie. I have seen movies that I did not enjoy very much, but this putrid piece of trash went far beyond "bad". I was struggling to not turn this movie off! This is sadder than a F- quality student film. You will regret seeing this movie. I know I did. I am a champion cine-file, and I hung on through the entire picture, but towards the end it was more a morbid curiosity than anything else. I just wanted to know if they somehow pulled it all together to at least give the illusion of a story line. They did not. This movie contained no plot to speak of. Two of the minor characters in the movie are terrorists plotting to, I THINK, take over a nuclear power plant with a map, a uniform and an M-16 and irradiate southern California, but these terrorists, like several other characters, vanish from the movie and nothing more is said about them. Not a single actor in this film seemed to have any acting ability at all. The direction was sloppy, jumpy and completely amateur in every way. The script is so completely heinous, and that is not an exaggeration. Because of the reasonably good police car mock-ups, realistic LOOKING firearms and music score, it is safe to assume that the movie started out with some sort of a budget, but was most likely mismanaged out of existence; which is evident because several promising action/dramatic scenes are cut away from and you are given the old black screen with gun shots and screams. One of the main characters in the movie, who was at least borderline humorous, but overacting to the point of being ridiculous, is killed in a completely trite car accident. The car chases in the movie are so stupid they don't even rate being funny. Cars speed away for 20 minutes from stationary vehicles, only to reappear miraculously ten feet away when the pursuer starts driving again. On dirt roads the cars are obviously weaving back and forth to cause fishtailing for actions sake, but I have seen slot car tracks with more thrills. At one point the pursuers can not locate their prey so they drive up a mountain to look down at the maze of desert dirt roads, and low and behold, just when they get up there, the prey is driving by just a hundred feet away again.Nothing more than a studio tax write off. Want to have a laugh, then watch the movie first, THEN read the blurb on the DVD's description and I defy you to not think "Did I miss something?"

Too many films these days strive to be something they're not. Especially independent movies. With "The Bank Job" first time director Brad Jurjens succeeds in making a film that comes straight from the gut. This is a movie you go to see to have a good time. A movie that gets you fired up. A movie that makes you want to jump in the screen and go for the ride. Sure it's a bit silly at times but due to the film's shoestring budget the comedy aspect is it's saving grace. A very smart move. But still for being a micro budget movie it manages to pull off a string of car chases that look like a million bucks. This is the movie that the disappointing "Smokin' Aces" should've been. A no holds barred blast of an action comedy that doesn't bail out in the end to try and become a serious drama. It knows what it is and what it is is a good time. Highly Recommended.
