Daniel Boone is a Kentucky Conservation Officer and father who is trying to make the best of life after the recent death of his wife. Both Boone and his daughter Jemeima are doing their best to move past the tragedy when a man he transported into federal custody escapes and his daughter is kidnapped by the same man, Tuco, who killed his wife. Good story, Not enough for a whole film
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
