A satirical, postmodern, sci-fi adventure story adapted from the books by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson. The Illuminatus! Trilogy is heavily saturated with counterculture, conspiracy theories, secret societies, hallucinogenic imagery, and cognitive dissonance, while the film itself was crafted using principles of Discordianism, artistic appropriation, and numerous self-referential concepts. I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
