Overrated and overhyped
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
If I take a look at Akshay Kumar's career graph over the past 5 years, most of his movies were ridiculous. I mean, I am still unable to understand why he chooses movies like Rowdy Rathore, Boss, Khiladi 786 when he can do a gem like Special 26. Boss has few good elements in it including the songs and some emotional scenes. But what obviously fails to impress is the storyline and some scientific scenes( mark here "scientific"- one where a plant starts growing with the mere sweat of Akshay Kumar). Story is as normal as it can get and predictable. Ronit Roy is the only feel good factor in this movie(not sure why he did not join movies earlier). Supporting cast including Mithun ,newcomer Shiv and Aditi Rao Hydari fail to make an impact. Overall, Boss is only for die hard Akshay fans and if you are that desperate to watch it, wait for it's satellite release.
BOSS is a clear departure from previous Akshay starrers , yet it has everything that spectators look for in masala fares in fact, BOSS is a fast-moving roller-coaster ride that gives you no time to think. It offers entertainment by the bucketful and celebrates the formula with panache. Director Anthony D'Souza who failed so miserably in "Blue", here rises out of the deep to deliver a full-blast rabble-rouser. Every moment in "Boss" is a celebration of cinematic conventions derived from decades of Bollywood entertainment. This is a fast-paced, zany, full-on masala fare. There is a tempting swagger to Akshay's performance matched by the narration's tidal tempo. Irresistible energy and endearing gusto underline the show's voracious appetite for a comic kill. On the whole, BOSS is a full-on masala entertainer that's very clear of its intent. It is designed to magnetize lovers of desi commercial cinema and woo the BO. If you savor and relish old-school masaledaar entertainers, BOSS is sure to win you over. Watch this one -- it's a paisa vasool entertainer! Ekdum fit hai, Boss!
New Hindi masala story, lots of characters and Akki. But Mithun Chakraborty and others will ham like anything and bore you to death. The songs slow down this movie to a snail's pace. But whenever Akshay Kumar AKA Akki comes in to frame this movie rocks. I am a big Akki fan, and love when Akki does his usual stuff. This movie has all the ingredients for a true AKKI fan, And boy o boy when Akki does action it is at par with any Hollywood Movie. I loved the "mazaar" fight scene, the run on old Delhi streets and buildings 'run' and greatest of all last fight scene. Every movie I seen of Akki right from Rowdy Rathore to Boss Akki has bettered himself in fight movies. I suggest even if you dislike Akki go watch this movie for entertainment.
i don't have any plans to see this movie. but today i went off to see this movie. i don't have any expectation from this movie. movie start it was boring. nothing excitement cause of poor acting by Aditi and Shiv. but Akshay Kumar and Ronit Roy save the day. when they appeared on the screen the movie changes the way. Ronit Roy the TV actor done a fabulous job as an antagonist. And Akshay Kumar done a very very good job. the dialogs, the comedy and the action was too good. movie would be better if there is some settlement in this movie. anyways this movie was better than other movies i've watched in Bollywood. i have seen Pokkir Raja but i didn't like that a bit but this one is better version of that original movie. the songs of the movie are too much good. i just enjoyed and enjoyed them. this movie can be watchable with family. there are some scene that contain some scene. but they are indirect. Action=10/10 Songs=10/10 Acting=9/10 Story=8/10 So overall my rating is 9/10. have a good watch :)
