Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Prehistoric Monsters Revealed of the most informative documentaries I've ever seen. I stumbled across it playing late at night and learned more in two hours than I have in months. I found myself with my mouth agape with the knowledge of modern science's ability to unfold the secrets of the past. I was sad when it was over, and that never happens with documentaries! If you want to get a rare insight into the lives and oddities of past (and current) animals, this is the documentary for you. The only warning I have is that this particular documentary requires some scientific interest or the depth to which they delve will just cause glazed eyes and an early bedtime. However, no scientific knowledge is specifically required, as everything is very well explained in a conceptual way. So, if you want to educate yourself for a couple of hours, invest the time to watch this show!
