Sorry, this movie sucks
everything you have heard about this movie is true.
While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
A member wrote on Dec. 16th that this movie was "over-hyped" claiming that the cast and crew of the movie called all of their friends and had them write favorable reviews, and that's how Hugo got good ratings. I'm afraid this Prunface has had somebody put an idea in his head, now he has gone public with it under the presumption that he is making a big Expose'. Tell me friend, why did 36 our of 39 Professional movie critics reporting to Rotten Tomatoes rate this movie an average of 94%? Do you think that most of the well known, highly regarded writers for such periodicals of The New York Times, The New Yorker, San Francisco Chronicle, and on-and-on received secret phone calls from cast and crew members influencing them with "two free movie passes" if they would give Hugo a good review?Don't be silly. This is a very well made, even slightly suspenseful movie with an iconic cast of good guys and bad guys, and thankfully, in the end, the good guys win. It is intended as a heartwarming story, and it was. Kudos to the producers and cast (I'm sure Johnny Depp called a "fake positive review" to his favorite Paris newspaper).
