It is a performances centric movie

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

This is a great must watch movie. "Carmen G" must be in movie theaters through out the New York State area and more. The acting and the story on this movie I excellent. drama, thriller and suspense all in one and a story of a poor family trying to make it in New York it's just a great movie to watch. Film Carmen G, I saw this movie at a film festival in New York and is a very good movie, has magnificent color, sound and music. His story is very nice, the actors are very good too.Is an independent film, made in New York, with actors of different nationalities. The music is very touching and appropriate for the movie. The locations are very appropriate for the story, such as Central Park and the hospital. The makeup of Virgil, impacts me which seems very real, also the make up of the protagonist, especially in the end. also make your comment for the movie. I recommend this film who sees worldwide.

This is a very good little independent film. The story blew me away, all the way until the end. I wish more big studio films had the sensitivity and story telling ideas this film had. This film reminded me of "Maria Full of grace" an immigrant story set in Jackson heights. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a film about Colombian immigrants in the U.S that had nothing to do with drug trafficking. The acting was very natural and sincere the lead actress Pierangeli did a wonderful job driving this story. Surrounded by a great supporting cast and most noted a very strong performance from Maria Cecilia Sanchez as (Charon). I would definitely recommend this film. If you are in the mood for a good story with some nice twists all the way until the end, go see this film.
