Good story, Not enough for a whole film
I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
This movie is based on the world of Mutant - Undergångens Arvtagare, a Swedish RPG made by Paradox Entertainment AB, and published by Järnringen Förlag AB. The setting is a post-apocalyptic Sweden with zones of heavy radiation and animals mutated into somewhat human form. The level of technology is industrial, plus the scavenged recourses of the past (ie our future). Technology is in many places worshiped as gods and amazing magics. Now that you understand the setting, lets take a look at the movie :) The movie was made with a minimal budget and has a very high standard. The angels of the film is very smart creating the immersion of the world in a good way. The movie is presented as a poem/song recited by the storyteller. There is no actual dialog other than the dialog the storyteller recites. The story of the film is a robot waking up and looking for his purpose. In his search he makes companions that follow him and shares his quest for their own reasons. All in all I believe you need to have played the game to fully appreciate the movie. It makes it even more special for me as I have been to many of the places where they filmed the movie :)
