Such a frustrating disappointment
A different way of telling a story
It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Excellent concept portrayed in a very out-of-the-box way of thinking. The humor woven into the film is funny, not overdone, and connects with the viewers. The cast members were spot-on in their portrayal of their characters. Questions or statements that I would have wanted to say seemed to appear as the next line in an already very engaging story. Afterwards, viewers are not left hanging with a sense of "yeah, but..". Yet, it does not wrap things up in a neat little package. I was taken by surprise at the emotion that welled up in me in the very last frames of the film. An unexpected touch to the heart and soul. I can understand why this film sold out at its first showing during the Nashville Film Festival. I highly recommend this movie to everyone.
My husband and I saw this film at the opening of the Nashville Film Festival this past week. Great show! Loved the storyline, visual effects, everything about this film. This movie has an aura about it that reminds me of a movie from a few years ago with Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel, called "Frequency". "The Nothing" is very suspenseful, and the story is told in a most unusual way. Once the plot was laid out, I definitely wanted to see how it would end. The acting definitely pulls the viewer in. I was impressed at how it played out, as it was not at all what I expected. We would love to see it again and would definitely recommend it to others!
