We are invited to follow reality TV star SJ - the inspirational female lead, on an epic fight for survival in a dystopian presentation of our present-day world.

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

Although the premise of this movie (girl enters game show and must fight to the death) was promising and the plot rather reminiscent of The Hunger Games, its shoddy camera work, terrible sound track and unattractive characters made it entirely unappealing. It was impossible to watch even half of this atrocious film. The main character (SJ) lacks even basic intelligence or charm (or in fact any desirable character trait at all), and yet the audience is clearly meant to empathise with her and root for her ultimate success. It seems reasonable to conclude that the only individuals who will rave about this film are those for whom corrugated iron splattered with a bit of red paint is "art".
