A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

WHITE CREEK is an indie arthouse bore with no discernable storyline or reason to exist. If I'd been one of the Kickstarter backers then I would have asked for a refund. There's some brief presentation of a rural post-apocalyptic society a la THE WALKING DEAD but this is mostly padding with around five minutes of actual storyline. The rest is full of dull characters and nature scenery with bad editing.

As a card carrying movie lover, it pains me to give such a low score. I'm stubborn in my viewing; once a movie starts I'll watch to the dogged end, even if only to understand what was good enough about it it to be produced and distributed. My taste is eclectic, I enjoy all genres from all eras - if I hated a movie you can be sure I tried hard to find SOMETHING redeeming about it. "White Creek" failed utterly. It's overwhelmingly slow paced. The dialogue is uncomfortable either from poor writing or bad acting (maybe both). The plot was so confusing that I don't even know what it was about. There wasn't enough character development to decide who I liked and who I didn't. The feudal culture was vague. On the rare occasions that anything actually happened it was such a leap from the story-line as to have no meaning. The bits of violence were mere seconds of bloody shock value, and the word "value" is a reach. The only reason I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 is that I didn't turn it off before it was over. I kept hoping for something to make it at least understandable. No luck there!! Save your time - you will be more entertained watching water drip from a faucet.
